An artists expansion.
Doing photography on and off for most of my life, recently I decided to make a career out of it. Now being considered a professional photographer, the deeper I went into my craft I realized how intricate, gorgeous and mind opening macro plant photography is. Getting to see things we look at everyday, that are completely normal, from a brand new, abnormal perspective.
I loved the images I had taken so much that I needed a way to share them in a more impactful way than just a post in Instagram. While researching ways to do that I came across making pillows. Something simple and elegant that can be wonderfully paraded throughout someones home sounded perfect to me.
Now when it came to materials, it only seemed natural to use natural, non-man made materials to truly capture and depict the beauty of nature. So with many months of research and product testing I settled on what materials would one: have the least or very low negative environmental impact. Two: healthiest for my customers. Especially after learning of all the harmful chemicals in most of the pillows on the market today that we inhale while using them. Lastly: which would have the most longevity, being durable.
I found those answers in cotton fabric and kapok stuffing. With this shop I hope not only to share my art, but to also share my knowledge on the makeup of these products; also encouraging people to make healthier decisions for themselves, their families and the environment.
