The story of our shop starts with our children. We have four children: two teenage boys 19 and 16, a 6 year old daughter and a 5 year old son. Our children are our world. A few years back we had some extra cash and decided we would go on a shopping spree for Christmas. We went a bit overboard and spent almost $1000 dollars. It seemed they had everything imaginable and we would have the perfect Christmas. It was alright but for the money we spent it seemed like it just wasn't as special as we had hoped for. The following year as the holiday season approached we decided we would try something new and create presents instead of buying them. We did some research and created our first project together. It was a dollhouse bookcase. We had never done anything like this before and we discovered in the process that not only did we enjoy spending time together creating it, we did an awesome job for a couple of beginners! We created felt food and a homemade kitchen set as well. We discovered our homemade toys not only were unique and fun to create, our children enjoyed playing with them much more and for longer periods of time than the toys you would get at a toy store. Not to mention with all the recalls today we had the peace of mind that our toys were safe for our children to play with. We always desired to have a business together so we could be with our children and each other. Light of Day Creations is us making our dream a reality. We are passionate about the products we create and we hope to bring that same unique, child friendly, and most of all fun aspect of our creations to you as well!
