Lillis Photography is a fine art, portrait and event photography business based in Prince William County, Virginia, servicing the Washington, DC metropolitan area and more. A native of Fort Scott, Kansas, Lillis Werder attended Georgetown University in Washington, DC graduating from the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service majoring in International Politics, with a fluency in the Spanish language. Since college. Now, a fine art and event photographer, she heads her own business, Lillis Photography for the past 10 years. She exhibits her work in several art galleries in the DC metropolitan area and in worldwide exhibits. Lillis uses vibrant colors in most all of her images and if desired, any image can be turned to a stunning black and white photo upon request. Lillis' goal is to bring the viewer into her images to encourage travel and to enliven the walls of any home or office.
Lillis has been the primary photographer for a nonprofit organization, American Friends of the Czech Republic (AFoCR) for the past 10 years, whose mission is to promote ties and relations between the United States and the Czech Republic. In this capacity, Lillis covers gala dinners in the United States and the Czech Republic, and also Embassy events, often photographing members of Congress and world leaders.
Lillis travels frequently to Europe and other foreign locations for images which are sold worldwide to newspapers, magazines, books, catalogs, calendar and post card companies and web sites for advertising purposes through internet stock photography sales on Getty Images, istockphoto.com, and Adobe Stock images. Her stock photography sales have reached over 40,000 images. Lillis also provides architectural photographs of home interiors for various Virginia realtors, including TTR Sotheby's.
Lillis has exhibited her art at the Art League in Alexandria located in the Torpedo Factory, Focus Gallery in Falls Church, VA, Tryst Gallery of Leesburg, VA, and Chasen Galleries of Richmond, VA and through public exhibits with the F11 Women's Photography Collective in places like Dulles Airport, the Torpedo Factory, local hotels, and DC galleries. Her images have been featured on web sites such as National Geographic, RedBook Magazine, The Lancet, AFoCR.org, and news publications including the Washington Post, Fox News, Czech news media, Manassas Journal Messenger, Elan Magazine, the Zebra Newspaper of Alexandria, VA, the AFoCR Newsletter, and numerous local business brochures.
