Meg was so excited to work on a custom order for me, and I just love working with her! Her work is flawless and she took my vision and executed it perfectly. These pillows are obviously made with care and love. Thanks, Meg!

About

Handmade items from my in-home studio

I opened shop in September 2012 on Etsy. Previously I had been focusing on my photography, but I was in an accident in August of that year, and my injuries made it nearly impossible to shoot for nearly 9 months. I had to take a step back and evaluate where I was as an artist to better determine what outlets I could use to continue to create!

I have very distinct memories of sewing and hand quilting with my Gram in my parents home when I was younger. She would come and stay with us for the summer, and she would set up her handmade quilt frame in the living room to work on her quilting commissions. I was only about 5 years old at the time, but she was happy to have me working with her. Not only was that my first experience sewing, but it was also when I learned that I could be an artist when I grew up! I learned how to use a sewing machine about 18 years ago, and my more current work over the last five years has led me to learn countless techniques.

Today, my pillows are my most popular item, I think because they make great gifts for a newborn, as a housewarming gift, even as a baby shower or bridal shower gift. I personalize each pillow with the name, date, or saying of my customers choosing, typically in a color that coordinates with the patchwork border.

Hand embroidered ornaments are also very popular, especially from August through November as we approach the holiday season! My quilts are also starting to gain momentum, and though I am currently selling more trendy and modern pieces, I hope to offer some improv quilts soon.

I would say I specialize in quilted and hand embroidered items for the home. My storefront on Etsy displays my most popular items, but I am also frequently taking on private commissions for quilts and intricately embroidered display pieces that I design based on my customer's specifications.

I am also a stock photographer for Getty Images, and have been shooting for 15 years, 5 of those professionally. I find a lot of enjoyment shooting fine art nature photography. During the year I also take on a limited amount of sessions. During these sessions, I try to capture the beauty in everyday moments for my clients. I have heard it referred to as visual storytelling. I truly believe that it is the small, in-between moments in our lives that not only make us who we are, but greatly contribute to our happiness, and I love to capture those moments for my clients.

That being said, I am a mom of three beautiful children. Time that I spend working on my shop, designing items, and fulfilling orders is time that I spend away from my children/family, and is therefor time that I highly value. I hope that my customers know that by supporting my shop, they are supporting my family, and any profit that I make from my business goes directly into meeting the needs of my children, as well as their health, happiness, and supplementing their education.

Welcome to Tea & Brie! I am so happy that you have found my little shop. Please do not hesitate to contact me. I love taking custom orders, and although I love to think up my own designs, I also love making your thoughts and ideas come to life!

Please head over to my website for a run down on FAQs on Custom Orders: http://myteaandbrie.com/custom-pieces-faq/

After you have read through my FAQs, here are the steps that you can take to begin a custom order:

* * For Pillows * *
If you are interested in working with me to design a pillow, please contact me first to make sure that I am able to do what you have in mind. If you would like a variation of a pillow already listed in my shop, please contact me through that listing. Basic information needed for a custom pillow would be:
*Color Scheme (please include relevant images in the conversation if applicable)
*Name to be embroidered
*Timeframe (it is important that we discuss this as my turnaround can fluctuate depending on the types of orders in my queue)
Once we begin a dialog, I ask that you please purchase the listing before I begin design work.

* * For Quilts * *
Please be sure to read my FAQs before you contact me about your quilt. All of my pricing information can be found at the above link. Once you have some ideas in mind, feel free to contact me through the quilt deposit listing to discuss your ideas, finalize a price, and get an estimate on turnaround. We will be having a lot of back and forth communication for the design of your quilt. I personally prefer to have all communications through Etsy so that I can have a record any small details or changes that we may make. During the design time, please be sure to check your Etsy mail frequently. If you are unable to check Etsy, please let me know an alternate means in which to reach you.

Please note, I use Pinterest as the means to create a design board for your quilt.

* * For Customized Hoops * *
I provide proofs in the form of sketches (one remake included) before I go to work, and again with the finished item before I ship them to ensure that you are happy with what you will be receiving. If you "ok" your proof and I move forward to the final stages of creation, any edits or changes will be made at an additional charge (as often times production needs to start over). Please be sure to check your Etsy messages, and please be sure you are happy with what you see before you approve your proof!

Payment
I currently accept Paypal and Credit Card. If you need to pay by cash, check, or money order, please contact me directly. Payment is expected in full at checkout, but in some instances (such as the design and creation of custom quilts), payment plans can be discussed.
Shipping
All of my custom items are Made to Order. Custom items are those in which you choose the color scheme, text, or request a specific design or idea. Depending on the complexity of Made to Order items and my current queue, they ship out within 7 business days. Complex and time intensive orders, such as custom quilts, may take up to 3 months. Please contact me for current turn around times, and if you have a deadline.

Most items ship via USPS First Class shipping within the US. Please select USPS Priority Upgrade at checkout if you would like your items to ship via Priority.

**Please Note** If you purchase a pillow form with your order you MUST ship via USPS Priority.

Larger quilts/items may be shipped via USPS Parcel Select service which has a delivery window of 2-9 days. If you need your items sooner, please use the "message to seller" box or the "contact the seller" option to request a shipping upgrade and a rush order.

I recommend insurance on quilts that are Lap/Twin size or larger. Please contact me for rates. $50.00 insurance is included with your order. There is a an additional charge for any insurance over $50.00. If you need to make a claim, you can visit the USPS website for additional information.

All items are very carefully packaged to insure that they remain safe while they make the trip from me to you; however, I cannot be held responsible for items once I post them. If you are concerned about your items being damaged or not delivered, please consider adding insurance on to your order. I very rarely replace "no show" items unless extensive proof can be made that you have not received your order.
Refunds and Exchanges
All sales are final in my shop. If you have irrefutable proof that your items were lost or damaged during shipping, and did not purchase insurance for your order, please contact me and we can discuss options.

Due to the nature of custom work and personalization, I do not offer returns or refunds on custom orders. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

If you would like to exchange an item that was not a custom order for another item or for store credit, please contact me BEFORE you send your item(s) back. Any return shipping is your responsibility.
