Eccentric transient turned stationary creator

About four years ago I was selling on Etsy full-time and I absolutely loved the freedom and the creative flow I always had; always thinking, altering, finding. Then one day I put my store on vacation mode and went on one hell of a vacation. I spent two years hitch-hiking across this country and not a dollar to my name when I left. I filled my pack with the essentials and gave myself to the flow of the universe. I rode with truckers, old women, young kids, meth heads, ex junkies, and religious enthusiasts . I survived off of gas station burritos and spent a lot of my day standing beside the freeway entrance with a cardboard sign reading "That way". My friends and I played in the redwoods, explored ghost towns on the top of snow covered mountains, lived on a commune in Tennesse, traveled in a school bus and a van painted like the A-Team, swam in oceans and rivers, and survived the desert. We slept under bridges, in caves, in forests, behind gas stations and grocery stores, under semi-trucks, in dumpsters, and tree-houses until after so many ups and downs I found myself settled in Asheville, NC. I studied herbal medicine for about a year under an amazing herbalist; my class and I explored our way through North Carolinas abundant forests learning and identifying plants from the forest floor up. We had plentiful guest teachers that spoke on subjects like herbalism for pets, aromatherapy, transgender herbalism, Ayurvedic healing, etc. Asheville expanded my passion for local food, music, art, gardening and creating. It felt good to be the home-bodied Virgo again, but something still wasn't quite right. After much contemplation, I moved back home to West Virginia. Its been amazing to re-explore the land I've known since I was a child, to be near family and make new friendships and connections. I am currently studying Cosmetology; bringing it and my Herbalism background together to create a full spectrum of internal and external beauty/health. Trying to alter the view of "traditional" beauty and bringing everyone's inward light outward.
It seems as if this particular journey has finally made a full circle and I am at a time of rest and growth and creative passion, so I felt it was time to start up my Etsy again. Here's to bringing all of my life experiences together into one wild shop.
With so much love, here is Gypsy Bean
