Wonderful item, thank you. The packaging meant it also survived the postman dropping it as it was being delivered.

Repurposing mindset

Living in a small town is a lot like being Kirk on the Gilmore Girls — everyone wears a lot of hats.

In my Staunton, Virginia business, Curren Media Group, I ghost write and edit, make websites, and do graphic design, especially flyers because I've got a thing for street level outreach and old school typography — using real materials to engage with my community.

I also write extensively on peak oil, climate change, a downshifting economy and why paying attention to this is all crucial if we're to pass a worthy world onto our kids.

Respecting our earth is a big time focus for me and so I value giving vintage items new life by either curating and selling them or reworking their parts for new upcycled items. I also do hand carved linoleum cuts because I'm trying to work more and more with real-world materials and less and less with e-versions (though this isn't entirely escapable since we're all in this system today). But we try.

Mid century modern graphics and housewares hold a special appeal for me, as does granny chic, garden and farm stuff, whimsical charm, and other more natural materials/ styles. I sell both online and in local shops or at my own salon sales.
