It all started to test a theory stating, if you provide a cat with a small cat quilt for your bed, sofa, chair, etc...they will learn to gravitate to it for naps and cat requiescence. Excess cat hair remains on the quilt instead of clothes, furniture, bedding, etc. Curious, I tried making a prototype cat quilt in the scrappy squares motif to test the theory. A medley of squares are sewn somewhat off balance for visual interest, atop one another. A scrappy back assembled, then lightly and asymmetrically quilted and left to fray; creating a soft, fun and zany look, and allowing the piece to define itself over time. No two are ever alike! Findings: My adopted pug, Gladys, slumbered on it continually, and the cat never got a chance...so was born the name "The Gladdy Paddy".
Please know that every aspect of creating a Gladdy Paddy is done by me, in my smoke free home, by hand... from the selection of fabric, cutting, piecing, to the trimming, all with you in mind, paying attention to detail and quality, rather than quantity. I trust you will be inspired to adopt one as your own or co-laborate with me to create one from the eye of your imagination, to grace a special place in your home, office, automobile, backpack, or wherever you can envision one!

I accept Paypal and credit cards through Etsy, as forms of payment. You do not need a PayPal account to use PayPal. I accept payment prior to the start of your work orders. Payment must be processed prior to the start of all custom, work orders.
I will not send items before your payment clears or payment is received.
Please be sure to fully process your order by completing the PayPal step at checkout. NOTE: Payment must be received within 24 hours or your order may be cancelled.
I ship all of my items via USPS First Class Mail or Priority Mail. Please be advised that most "ready to ship" items will ship within 1 business day and made to order items state estimates in item descriptions. Please read in my shop messages/ item descriptions for how long to expect for shipping-especially made to order pieces.
I cannot be responsible for lost items. Please, let me know if you would like to purchase insurance for the shipment and I will be glad to provide information for this as well as expedited shipping.
INTERNATIONAL orders should contact me prior to order so I can calculate shipping fees for your location. I will then set up a custom listing for your item with the amended shipping required to your area or request a payment through Paypal for the shipping fees. Purchaser must have valid email address for me to request shipping fees. I will mark your item "SHIPPED" in your Etsy account details on the day that I ship. I SHIP TO THE ADDRESS ON YOUR ETSY ACCOUNT. Please be sure this is accurate. NOTE TO INTERNATIONAL BUYERS: Each country has its own customs/duty fees that I, as a seller, am not responsible for. It is up to you, the buyer to be aware of these and pay for them accordingly. They cannot be prepaid in the U.S.! It is ILLEGAL to list items sold here as a 'gift' on the customs manifest rather than 'merchandise'; please do NOT ask so I won't have to turn you down, thanks!
Shipping fees include shipping and handling for your purchase(s). If you should be unhappy with your item for any reason, shipping and handling fees will NOT be refunded.
Refunds and Exchanges
I cannot be held responsible for international lost orders; international orders do -usually take an extended time even if I ship your order promptly- most are aware of this but a reminder. To ensure that you do not have a lost package, you can ask for insurance- may not apply to all international orders! Please be advised I do not give refunds for lost orders. All sales are final.
If there was an issue with your item by error on my part, I will gladly correct. However, I ask that you please message me immediately upon arrival of your item(s) with specifics.
Packages are carefully inspected and checked for accuracy prior to shipment with meticulous notes as well as most orders have delivery confirmation so all steps of the process are monitored by me. I greatly appreciate your positive feedback since I work hard to make your handcrafted- quality items!
I cannot give refunds for lost orders.
I do want you to be happy. I will accept a return within 2 days of receiving your item. I use delivery confirmation for my orders so can monitor closely. You will be held responsible for all shipping expenses (the initial ones and for sending it back to me). There will also be a 10% restocking fee.
Additional Policies and FAQs
Current wait time for special orders is 10 - 15 full business days from day payment recieved, however custom orders requiring specialty fabric that needs to be ordered by me, may take up to 4 weeks, allowing time for me to receive the fabric to complete your order.
