About

I love making novelty chocolates, marshmallows and cake pops......something just that little bit different.....AND TASTY!

I started off as a kids party business, decorating home made cake pops. I then decided I needed to add variety, for those who may like something other than cake. As a chocoholic.....chocolate was an obvious choice... and I decided to jazz it up! Cakes and cookies are decorated to make them look more colourful and attractive, why not chocolate too? It can look so dull...and brown (or white!) Why waste the details of some wonderfully creative chocolate moulds? We add edible food colours and mix into icing, and often into the cake mix as well. My way of adding colour, is to hand paint with 100% edible food paints, highlighting the often hidden features of moulded chocolate shapes. A whole new colourful chocolate world is the result! Only the front of the chocolate is painted (unless it is a 3D item), leaving the majority of the chocolate untouched, and more traditionally recognisable. The taste is unaffected...they just look transformed.

******** I only use high quality, Belgian chocolate for ALL my chocolate range, including all the miniatures. All my chocolates are SUITABLE FOR VEGETARIANS, but only my PLAIN (dark) chocolate is suitable for VEGANS. My food paint colours are mainly vegan friendly, but can be checked on request. All my chocolate and paints are GLUTEN FREE.
Candy melts, with a vanilla flavour, are ONLY used on all my cake pops, cake pop truffles, and marshmallow items, EXCEPT my cake pop truffle box of 6, which are all coated in Belgian chocolate. ******** PLEASE READ MY SHOP POLICIES, INCLUDING MY FAQ'S, WHICH WILL HOPEFULLY COVER YOUR QUESTIONS RELATING TO SHELF LIFE OF THE CHOCOLATE, PAINTS, WHEN TO ORDER, ETC.

I work from a smoke free home, and have a five star food hygiene rating from my local, (Brighton & Hove) council. Luckily, I have just about reached the pinnacle of my choc mould obsession... as I am running out of space! I have hundreds of designs...and plenty still in my head....so please contact me if you have something particular in mind, and I'll see what I can come up with to make something special for you. There are so many sports, hobbies, animals, occasions and interests...it's impossible to cover them all in my shop....but you never know what mould or shape I may have, that could turn into just what you are looking for. Please message me and ask, there's no obligation..and I may even discover an interesting mould I'd forgotten all about! For me, GIVING an unusual gift has always been as exciting as receiving one. With a colourful, hand painted gift from my shop..... the surprise will be..... that it's edible too!

As pops and chocs increased in popularity, I added marshmallow as a third option, and now all three (pops, chocs and mallows) form the basis of my business. I am wary of posting some of my more fragile goodies, but if you see anything you like on my website, that isn't available on Etsy, please feel free to message me to check if there's a way of getting it to you safely. I am happy to post anywhere........ at any time of year... that my chocs won't melt! I'm trying to keep the postage costs down too, so feel free to contact me, if you want to combine any items and find out postage costs. I am gradually adding measurements and weights to the product details, but if you have any questions at all, please ask.

It's fun to make something different, and hopefully you will like at least some of what you see in my shop. Please contact me for customised orders, or get further inspiration and customer feedback, from my website www.lindypopcakesandchocs.co.uk

Thanks so much for reading.......and visiting!

There is no doubt that I love CHOCOLATE! I mould and hand paint my chocolates, turning them into a more colourful and unusual gift. It's actually very relaxing, much like colouring in. I just sit in front of the chocolate.. and see what happens next!

Frequently asked questions
Custom and personalised orders

I am happy to make a special order for you, including any items you have seen in the shop, or on my website. Making a different number, or leaving out a design, is not a problem, if there 's a certain combination you'd like for a special occasion or person. I think often the words 'custom order,' can imply that they will be expensive........but to me it just means something different from the version already shown (Love doing something different most of all!)......It just means having it made more suited to the style, colour, variety, or person that you want. I will always do my best to accommodate, and will explain why, if I can't manage what you have asked for!

Sizing details

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU CLICK ON '+ More', (OR 'Details' IF USING A PHONE), TO ACCESS THE FULL LISTING INFORMATION, AS ETSY LIMITS THE AMOUNT OF PRODUCT INFORMATION THAT IS IMMEDIATELY DISPLAYED.
I have listed as much information as I can, on the items I have made most recently. Other photos and designs may be those I have not made for a while, so if the measurement or weight is not shown, I'm happy to answer your enquiry message. It takes so much time making and packaging the goodies, that often I forget to weigh or measure, before they disappear to their new home!

Care instructions/Information - Chocolate Items

All chocolates from my shop should be kept in a dry, cool, dark place to remain at their best. I send care details and a best before date (generally 6-8 weeks from purchase), with each order. The chocolate is perfectly fine for longer, but I find it useful to give a best before date, to encourage the recipient to actually eat it! Yes, it's chocolate (and who wouldn't want to enjoy every mouthful,) but I guess because it is more unusual and detailed than standard chocolate gifts, the danger is.... it may be admired for a little too long!
I generally ship and send my orders within 2 days of making them, so your chocolate will be at it's very best.

I use quality Belgian chocolate, which is vegetarian friendly. Choose PLAIN choc for VEGANS.

Gift wrapping and packaging

I don't just like the pops, chocs or mallows to look good, I want the packaging to look like something I'd like to purchase too. My listings all describe the packaging, and advise if a gift box is included. I use the best fit gift box for your items...and of course try to colour co-ordinate where I can. I'm a bit of a fusspot, and while I LOVE painting my goodies, the packaging can often, (almost) take me longer than the creative part! You may feel like you are involved in a 'pass the parcel' game when you receive your box, but I have to PROTECT when I ship, and this involves a lot of layers, and a lot of time :)
Once in the postal system, I have no control over the way your parcel is handled, or the place it is left on delivery.

Christmas/Pre-ordering during busy periods

PLEASE READ MY 'Care Instructions - Chocolate Items' FAQ, TOGETHER WITH THIS ONE.....
As I like to make and ship my chocs within 2 days, it's very hard to cope with a sudden surge of seasonal orders. I understand that you wish to receive your order with the longest shelf life, therefore I am happy to agree a mutually acceptable dispatch date, for orders purchased in advance. These orders will take priority when the seasonal rush is in full swing, and I may need to close my shop temporarily to new orders. Sticking to agreed dispatch dates is very important to me, both from an organisational point of view, but also for the peace of mind of the customer. I am happy to suggest timescales for overseas delivery, but can never guarantee them.

Are all items MADE TO ORDER?

YES! I list all items as more than 1 in stock, as many customers wish to order more than one of the same item or chocolate set. I also didn't realise when I started on Etsy, that your listing for a sold item will disappear unless you show there are more in stock. That's why I never show only one item in stock...because I am always able to make more!!
PLEASE REMEMBER TO CHECK THE DISPATCH DATE (Also known as Shipping date or Posting date) SHOWN ON YOUR ORDER CONFIRMATION. I DO NOT sell 'off the shelf' items, therefore I have to mould, paint, dry and package each item before they can make their way to you. IT IS VITAL THAT YOU TAKE NOTE OF THE DISPATCH DATE.... AND THEN ALLOW FOR THE ESTIMATED SHIPPING TIMES, AS SHOWN TO YOUR COUNTRY!!

What's in the Paints?

My paints are water (not alcohol) based and also contain, cornflour, emulsifier, soya lecithin, potassium sorbate, and citric acid. They are 100% edible, vegetarian friendly, nut free, kosher and halal... and are tested to the food standards required by European Union legislation. Paints are all used in small quantities, only painted on the front, outer surface, with the rest of the chocolate untouched. The taste is unaffected.

PLEASE NOTE : Some paint colours used, may include E102, E104, E122, E124, E129 which are labelled for European Union use "May have adverse effect on activity and attention in children". Please contact me if you have any concerns relating to E numbers (food additives) contained in any particular item in my shop.

How long does the chocolate last?

I sell all my Belgian chocolate goodies with a BEST BEFORE DATE OF 6-8 WEEKS. Storage guidelines are provided with your purchase. PLEASE SEE MY OTHER FAQ TITLED 'Care instructions - Chocolate Items', FOR MORE DETAILS ON THE BEST BEFORE DATE. PLEASE REMEMBER, IT IS NOT A 'USE BY' DATE!
Chocolate is affected by moisture, light, temperature, and exposure to air, any of which can cause it to 'bloom', ie. the fat particles rise to the surface, and cause a white 'chocolate rash' (that's my own phrase for it!). It can spoil the appearance of the chocolate, but it is still perfectly fine to eat. In my experience, paint covered chocolate is less likely to bloom, as it is less exposed to air and light....but of course, it can still melt!!

Care Instructions - Cake Pops and Marshmallows

Each shop listing for cake pops, cake pop truffles and marshmallow items, all give product details for the item concerned, in the product description section. I also send an information card with each order, giving a use by date and storage advice. PLEASE NOTE THAT I CANNOT FULFILL LARGE QUANTITY ORDERS. MAXIMUM TOTAL OF 12 FOR ANY ONE ORDER. I can post marshmallow items outside of Europe, as they have the longest shelf life. Cake pops and truffles take too long to travel to destinations other than in Europe, although if special delivery arrangements are agreed, I may consider sending to other countries.

Shipping/Postage info

I have made every effort to ensure my shipping costs are affordable and accurate, using the UK Royal Mail pricing guide.

PLEASE NOTE: Standard UK Royal Mail DOES NOT OFFER TRACKING...either in the UK or elsewhere.
A tracking number is only available on an alternative service, as shown in the upgraded shipping options you can select at the time of purchase.
Please ensure you select the right option for your order, ie.IF YOU WISH TO HAVE A QUICKER, TRACKED, SIGNED ON DELIVERY OPTION.....DO NOT select the Standard Royal Mail service!!

The UK£ (pound) is very weak at the moment, which makes purchasing my items a more affordable option....even if you are far away.

Any questions or difficulties, please just ask!
