What is Linejunk
What and who Linejunk is
Linejunk was started in 2013 to build a community for the power linemen to share their stories about Linework. It is a tight-knit community of blue-collar workers and their families. The page with hard work and effort gained traction on social media, making it the place to go to for information. As it grew, I started noticing a few trends in the industry when it came to weather and accidents within the trade. I started providing help for the linemen who were going on these storms from different states and countries to assist the community in power restoration. I assisted them in getting their laundry done and fed while they were away from home. I post, Reshare videos of what it looks like from boots on the ground, as well as how many customers are without power, so they know what they need to pack in their bags to go help.
As this was happening and I was building, the public started catching on to what power line workers do, and they were using the page as a resource to see what the storms did to the area, why their power was still off, and then they started understanding and helping bring food, offering place to sleep and other things to these linemen that traveled to help their community.
Also, I started seeing the number of accidents the industry is involved in. I have been tracking them for over 10 years, and we average an accident every 4 days and a death of a lineman every 12 due to work.
I have raised money for victims of storms, donated supplies, and helped build a non-profit to help the lineman families after an accident. All positive things in a brutal trade. Raising awareness and fundraising 10’s of thousands of dollars to help families has been a mission.
Who I am
Linejunk is often mislabeled as a huge company, and I am typically thought of as a guy running the page. All of that is false. I am a linewife, my husband is a lineman. I have 2 children and am the only one who runs this business. No employees, just me. I do this out of my living room. I do not do this for money, fame, or to be acknowledged. I do this because I care and am passionate about the trade.
I want you to be proud to wear a shirt or purchase something from www.linejunk.com because you are supporting a line family and the trade. It isn’t a big box company.
