Printing is clear and the paper is good and sturdy - haven't had a chance to try it out with markers or watercolors yet, but seems like it should hold up just fine. It's also smooth enough that it should still work for colored pencils. Just a heads up that the paper for the loose bound version is slightly off-white (has a very slight cream tint to it). Doesn't look bad, but if you want to have true white highlights, you'll have to add them in instead of leaving the paper without color (on the other hand, it'll probably be nice for doing things like skin tones). Definitely glad I grabbed this one, and hoping the artist offers more in the watercolor paper style, because I would love to have more.

Even more gorgeous in person. Love it
I opened Liquid Fae Studios in 2011, at a time I was staying home and taking care of my house, husband, and kids. It started out as a way to make money to buy supplies for my art, such as paint, paper, and other necessities, so that those (often expensive) items did not come from the household budget. However I never intended for art to be 'just a hobby'. I attended the Rocky Mountain School of Art+ Degisn and majored in Illustration - and turning art into a career had always been my primary goal. At the time, my sales were my only means of personal income, so growing my business was a slow process, and every dollar was returned and reinvested to grow. During this time I spent many hours painting, growing, changing, and finding my voice and style as an artist. Despite always knowing I wanted Art as a career, I had no idea what kind of art I really wanted to produce.
After many years of introspection, exploration, and failure to create something I was totally happy with, it finally began to form. For the last 5 years I have been continuing to push this growth, and my art has morphed into more than illustration or fantasy art, which is where it began. My work has become a tool to express the way I see the world, both spiritually and physically, and my style and technique has solidified into something tangible.
As a teenager, I loved to collect art, but so much is a higher price than a 14-year-old has in pocket change. I decided I always wanted my art to be accessible so that it can be enjoyed by people of all ages and means. I strive to keep my prices low and affordable, with many options from small trinkets to large prints. I realize that not everyone has wall space, nor do we often want to use art to decorate our homes. This is why I offer many functional items as well, so you can enjoy art in an everyday and usable way.
Liquid Fae Studios is currently run by a single entity: Me, the artist. Every item in my shop is created, made, packed, and shipped by me. Now that my shop has grown, it is a full-time position to keep it up, and my little hobby has become my means to pay bills, and no longer simply supports its own existence. The Etsy community played no small part in bringing me to this wonderful place in my career, and I look forward to many more years on these pages.
