Announcement   Visit my Etsy textile shop, TextileGeisha.Etsy.com and bead supplies shop, AriaDesignStudio.Etsy.com.

I am transitioning this shop to offer a selection of my finished jewelry and also working on bead patterns to launch in late 2016.

I am taking a break from lampworking to work on other projects and in textile/fiber arts. If you need any glass beads that you don't see listed, please email me at "LisaKanDesigns@yahoo.com" and I will see what I can do.

*****
Thank you for visiting my handmade glass bead shop. I have worked in glass full-time since 2005. All the glasswork you see on Etsy are handmade by me in my Vancouver, WA studio. I generally make beads in a series with a specialty of layering glass colors to create subtle variegated effects. You will find my nature inspired work in standard and limited production colors at various trade shows in the US and now on Etsy.

Every bead is created lovingly one at at time and annealed overnight in a computer controlled kiln for lasting beauty and durability.

Every attempt has been made to depict my glass beads to the best of my abilty. Some listings depict photo representations of the bead(s) that you will receive and will be noted in the listing description. In most cases, the actual bead(s) photographed are the exact ones you will receive. Please make a note of this when purchasing.

Due to monitor settings and preferences, colors may appear slightly different on screen than in person. As each computer monitor is calibrated differently, there may be slight color variances between the item and the image you see on the screen. If you require a color consultation to match beads between several listings, please feel free to convo me. Color is my specialty.

I'm using these with a crochet project and they will perfectly accent the colors. So well made and shipped quickly.

All the glass beads you find in this Etsy shop is personally created one at a time by me in my Vancouver, WA studio. In some cases, the photo in a listing is a representation of the color and bead you will receive. Since I create in a series format, I have multiples of the same bead from my trade show stock. Because I have been making select style of beads for a long time, I have perfected my techniques to be exacting. All items listed on Etsy are ready to ship immediately so there is no waiting.

My Etsy shop is an attempt to bring my work to a wider audience and make available my glass work to those who can not attend shows. Limited edition designs, once only available at shows, will now also be offered on Etsy. Many surprise offerings are also in the works.

I am mostly inspired by the Art Nouveau and Victorian eras but find inspiration everywhere and in most historical periods. I have a great fondness for Rene Lalique's work (his glass, his enamels, his jewelry...everything Lalique!). Other's that inspire my work included Alphonse Mucha, Louis Comfort Tiffany, Georges Fouquet, Daum Nancy, Emile Galle, Dale Chihuly, Jean Schlumburger, etc. and all the important jewelry design firms like Tiffany, Bulgari, Boucheron, Cartier, etc. There's too many to list but this gives you a good idea of my design acumen.

Specialties
In jewelry, my style is antique, vintage, elegant and romantic. My specialty is beadweaving but I do a little of everything. I am inspired by historical eras and like to weave stories within my work through the components I select.

In glass, I am inspired to create work that emulates ceramics, textiles, lapidary, Japanese aesthetics and Mother Nature. My signature is the use of transparent color - variegated, subtle or with layering effects to add dimension and depth.

Welcome to my Etsy shop!!!

Additional policies and FAQs
Wholesale customers, please contact me directly with your resale information. If you require additional items of the same product, they may be in stock or made to order if I am not traveling for a trade show.

All my glass work is annealed in a digitally controlled kiln overnight. Even annealed, all glass is fragile and can break if mishandled, especially sculptural designs. Take this in consideration when you design your final creation. For instance, I recommend glass leaf beads for necklace and earring designs but not bracelets.
