Sempre fui uma garota nerd e fico muito apaixonada por histórias. Meu primeiro amor foi por O Império Contra-Ataca e Battlestar Galactica. As histórias em série estimularam um ataque de criatividade que me levou a estudar design gráfico e arte. Meus hobbies sempre foram ricos em imaginação - ficção científica e romances de fantasia, programas de televisão, roleplaying e jogos de tabuleiro, e buscando novos lugares, experiências e modos de viver.
Comecei a fazer belas artes em tempo integral em 2004, depois de uma década em biotecnologia (que também amo). Vendi mais de 100 pinturas de óleo e pastel a óleo e tive vários shows solo e de grupo. Em 2007, meu marido e eu nos mudamos para Cingapura para apoiar um projeto de biotecnologia. Continuei pintando, mas fiquei um pouco à deriva artisticamente com a mudança na cultura, no ambiente e na queda do mercado.
Quando voltamos para New Hampshire em 2012, eu tive que colocar em dia a cultura popular. Com o advento da Netflix e outros serviços de streaming, logo descobri o programa de televisão Supernatural e fiquei viciado como não tinha sido desde a adolescência. Uma noite eu decidi que queria projetar um conjunto de montanhas-russas de lembranças baseadas nas viagens e aventuras de Sam e Dean Winchester. Assim começou minha própria viagem. Comecei a levar meus desenhos para as convenções sobrenaturais e agora incluir paradas na estrada de negócios dentro dos meus outros fandoms. Foi assim que Lisa estava aqui.
Lisa Estava Aqui me leva de volta às minhas raízes e me deixa explorar os lugares que estimularam e galvanizaram minha criatividade. Eu posso literalmente pegar a estrada e assistir a convenções e geek fora com outras pessoas que são inspiradas da mesma maneira. Tem sido maravilhoso. Bem-vindo à Lisa Estava Aqui.
I have always been a geek girl and get quite smitten by stories. My first love was for The Empire Strikes Back and Battlestar Galactica. The serial stories spurred a bout of creativity that pushed me to study graphic design and fine art. My hobbies have always been rich in imagination - science fiction and fantasy novels, television shows, roleplaying and board games, and seeking out new places, experiences and ways of living.
I started doing fine art as a full time endeavor in 2004, after a decade in biotechnology (which I also love). I have sold over 100 oil and oil pastel paintings and have had multiple solo and group shows. In 2007 my husband and I moved to Singapore to support a biotech project. I continued painting, but was set somewhat adrift artistically with the change in culture, environment, and the market crash.
When we returned to New Hampshire in 2012, I got to catch up on popular culture. With the advent of Netflix and other streaming services, I soon discovered the television show Supernatural and I was hooked like I hadn't been since I was a teenager. One night I decided I wanted to design a set of souvenir coasters based on the road trips and adventures of Sam and Dean Winchester. Thus began my own road trip. I started taking my designs to the Supernatural conventions and now include stops on the road from businesses within my other fandoms. This is how Lisa Was Here came to be.
Lisa Was Here takes me back to my roots and lets me explore the places that spur and galvanize my creativity. I get to literally hit the road and attend conventions and geek out with other people who are inspired the same way. It has been wonderful. Welcome to Lisa Was Here.
