I feel a kindred spirit with many Etsy shop owners who want to be their own boss and quit their corporate jobs. Only it wasn't my choice in Jan '08 when I was laid off with 648 others in a conference call from the huge Wall Street firm that was "Too Big to Fail". Um, yeah, right...
We all know the story. As a middle-aged woman, with skills primarily in one area of business, I was a castoff, a throwaway...Interviews were dreary and hopeless. I was over-qualified. "You'll leave as soon as things pick up again." Whatever!
I had been frugal with my income and started going to estate sales to look for treasures I could turn for a profit. I started to get to know the "regulars" in line and the owners of the estate sale businesses. I even started working for a few of them. Some had gotten their start in the same way I had, from needing to change their income source. I eventually opened my own brick and mortar store that did very well but a family illness forced me to close it. I sell online and at street fairs and I couldn't be happier as I live my life every day as "I" want to live it.

After spending 28 years in the lending business, I can now spend time in a beautiful area of the country (Sunny Southern California) pursuing what I love - picking things that make people happy. I am lucky to have a supportive husband at my side!

All items will be shipped priority mail unless they can fit under the Media Mail rates or if Parcel Post is the cheaper route, I will use it. If I am able to ship at a better cost, I will refund the difference less any costs incurred for bubble wrap, special packaging or other supplies. I won't make money on shipping nor will I absorb the extra costs associated with it. If the distance to you or the requests you make for packaging (extra bubble wrap, etc.) create a higher shipping cost, I will need the remaining funds sent before I can ship it.
Refunds and Exchanges
I will not be responsible for any damage caused by the shipper. I recommend you purchase insurance for your higher priced items for peace of mind.
Additional policies and FAQs
Please inspect your item/items as soon as you receive it. All damage claims must be made within 5 days of receiving packages.
If an item is broken, please do not discard the box or product, and contact me either through convo or at lisascottage (at) gmail.com.
I can reserve an item out of "active" listings for 48 hours. Longer times may be possible at my discretion but certain items are tailored for the current season and therefore cannot be held outside this timeframe.
