LiseAndKatina's Shop Policies

Welcome

❀ Welcome to Lise + Katina vintage!

Thank you for reading our policies before making your purchase. Our policies are subject to change as we continue to work out ways to take the best care of our shoppers!

As always, if any of our policies don't work for you, please let us know and we will try to accommodate any requests!

Payment

We expect that payment is made within 24 hours of purchasing and we accept Paypal only. If payment is not made within our 24 hour window, your order will be canceled. We do not accept cancellations after the order has been paid for as we encourage our buyers to ask questions before purchasing. If you are set on buying an item but would like further clarification on it first, we will happily reserve the piece in our shop for you while we assist you with the specifics.

We are always available to discuss any extenuating circumstances with you, and exceptions are made at our discretion.

Shipping

✉ Generally we ship our items within 3 days after receiving payment. Insured purchases will receive a tracking number within 72 hours of purchase.

Our shipping prices reflect the lowest cost we can give. We do however, recommend that you purchase insured shipping - these are one-of-a-kind pieces we are selling, and it is always a heartbreak to have them lost or damaged. Convo us before buying, and we will adjust the cost of the item accordingly.

We are happy to ship internationally, and to expedite shipping as well. Any additional shipping fees due to upgrades, customs, insurance, etc. are the buyer's responsibility and must be discussed prior to purchase. As of right now we do not have pricing set up for international shipping, so please convo us for a modified listing!

We always pack our items well to insure their safety, but if you are buying for a special occasion please ask us about adding an additional $5 for gift wrapping - it would be our pleasure to take this extra step for someone special in your life!

Refunds and Exchanges

★ We list the details of our items to the very best of our knowledge. We do our research to make sure we are describing pieces correctly and pricing fairly. All damage is listed and shown in pictures when possible, and we encourage our shoppers to ask with questions before buying. For this reason we generally do not accept refunds.

However, we do accept that we may make mistakes, and we also want you to be completely happy with your purchase. Should there be any previously unnoticed flaws in your item, or any unforeseen circumstance please discuss the problem with us before leaving feedback, and we will do everything we can to make it right! Just ask!

Additional Policies and FAQs

✍ Please understand that vintage by nature means old, and likely used. There is expected to be natural wear and aging, and even mint/perfect items are more fragile than their modern day counterparts. We do our best to describe the condition of our pieces and to show any damage we find, but if you have any questions or would like more detailed pictures, please ask before you buy!

We use a fairly standard model for explaining the quality of our vintage clothing and jewelry:

{Mint Condition} This means perfect, pristine, worn little or not at all.

{Near-Mint Condition} Only the slightest wear is apparent, and only where expected. Lace yellows beautifully with age, metal acquires a patina, etc. Structurally the garment or jewelery piece is perfect.

{Excellent Condition} No structural damage, normal, light wear as expected. There may have been some respectful and appropriate reconstruction (matched buttons or hooks, beading, etc.), but overall the piece will be mostly clean and unharmed.

{Very Good Condition} Flaws are minor, and we have not been able to remedy them. Small amounts of staining or soiling, but counterbalanced by some of the unique and beautiful features that can only be found in items from another time.

{Good Condition} Flaws are as expected with old clothing and jewelry. Flaws are significant enough that the piece could not be restored to excellent condition, but overall the character and beauty of the piece are still apparent.

{Poor Condition} We will rarely list a piece that is in poor condition. In this case the piece as a whole is destroyed, however there may be some worth still salvageable from it. Moth-eaten or mildewed clothing may still be useful for pattern making and study, broken jewelry may still be re-purposed, beautiful, but torn garments may be cut.

A note on the cleaning and repairs made to our items: We intend for our pieces to be worn and loved, though we don't always buy them in a condition that makes wearing desirable. We take great care to clean our items without damaging them, and we try to present our pieces to you as odor free as possible. When we are able to fix minor flaws we try to do so in a historically appropriate way to protect the integrity of the piece. Please understand that sometimes it is in the better interest of the collector for us not to clean an item or make repairs to it. If you have any questions about the cleaning or repairs that have or have not been made to items, or that you would like to be made before buying, just ask!
