Notebooks are as described; they're a perfect size for carrying around in my purse and jotting down ideas.

Little Alexander is great! I asked if they could find me a pterosaur from their clearance selection and it arrived speedily. Kate even included a nice note saying that pterosaurs are her favorite, too. Love Little Alexander and will be making them my go-to notebook and paper goods shop.

Illustrated Paper Goods - small batch, recycled, handmade

Who We Are

We are K + A Alesandrini. We grew up together, and the two of us have been inseparable since middle school.

We went to college together in Seattle, Washington where we fell in love with mountains and wilderness and then worked real jobs for awhile, K designing websites and illustrating online games and A teaching physics. We're still inspired by the culture and landscape of the Pacific Northwest.

We began Little Alexander while living in a white farmhouse in rural Iowa surrounded by prairie flowers and songbirds. We gardened, and we kept chickens and honeybees. Some of the items you’ll find in our shop still reflect the verdancy and simplicity of those days.

We now live in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with our young son, IX. We love biking around the city enjoying the outdoors and taking part in all the many things this city has to offer. We’re excited to be a part of a diverse and vibrant city making beautiful things and beautiful lives.

What We Make

Nothing makes us happier than working together. K is the artist, with a degree in illustration and a love for drawing, printing, watercolor and trying new things. A is the producer, making all of our notebooks by hand and connecting with our customers across the globe.

We are passionate about handmade goods. All of our images are original illustrations by K, all of our notebooks are made from scratch by A, and we print all of our notecards and postcards ourselves. We also work with outside partners to screen prints some of our notebook covers. They are just as passionate about handmade quality as we are. We like to support local printers, so we've worked with a few as we've moved around.

We carefully choose our materials to be as environmentally friendly as possible. All of our products use papers made of 100% recycled content or reclaimed scrap. We use minimal packaging for shipping our products, all made from recycled paper and cardboard.

Want to know more? Drop us a line! We’re always happy to hear from you.
