Funding My Expensive Little Hobby

I started making jewelry in the summer of 2011 after being inspired by an unplanned visit to a local bead shop. Compelled to somehow use the bag of beautiful beads I brought home, I taught myself beading and wire-wrapping through books, internet research, and, frankly, an embarrassing amount of trial-and-error.

With my own jewelry box overflowing, I opened my Etsy shop in early 2012. Thus far, being an Etsian has been a fun and challenging experience. I enjoy the entire process -- from combing the jewelry district for supplies, to photographing finished pieces -- and I'm happiest when I'm at my kitchen counter, pliers in hand and surrounded by shiny things.

I live in NYC with my husband, two children, and a needy little dog. I started making jewelry on a whim not long ago, and it quickly became an addiction. I'm taking full advantage of a break from my legal career to explore my creative side!

Welcome, and thank you for visiting my shop! I use quality materials in my handmade jewelry, including sterling silver and gold-filled metals; freshwater pearls;; and precious and semiprecious gemstones. Many of my pieces can be customized --- just convo me if you have a question about placing a custom order.

I accept payment through Paypal and directly through Etsy by credit card. However, for the reasons explained in the special instructions below, payments for items shipped to addresses within New York State are subject to sales tax and require additional billing.

Kindly make your payment at the time of your purchase. If I don't receive payment or otherwise hear from you within 48 hours, I will unfortunately have to cancel the sale. If you are having trouble making a payment, please feel free to convo me for assistance.

Jewelry purchases shipped to New York addresses are subject to state sales tax. Because neither Etsy nor Paypal are set up to accurately calculate varying rates of New York sales tax, I will need to send you a custom invoice through Paypal via email. This may require that I send you an additional invoice for the tax amount after you have paid the listed for your order. Please convo me before your purchase so that I can arrange a convenient payment method for you.
I will ship your order as quickly as possible, but always within two business days from receipt of payment. Shipping charges are calculated based on weight, postal rates, and the type of shipping service chosen by the buyer. I ship via USPS, and your shipment confirmation email will include a tracking number.

For shipments outside of the US, I cannot accept responsibility for any fees, customs, or taxes that may apply once your package has left my possession. I am obligated to fill out customs forms accurately and in full compliance with US and international laws.

Most items shipped domestically will arrive within three-to-five business days, but please allow up to two weeks to receive your items. International shipping takes longer, so please allow up to six weeks to receive items shipped outside the US.

If you need expedited shipping, I can ship your item via USPS Priority Mail or Express Shipping for an extra charge---please convo me to work out arrangements.

Also, as a New York City seller, I participate in Etsy's ASAP service. Same or next-day ASAP service is available for delivery to zip codes within New York City that have been designated by Etsy. The flat rate for this service is $20. You can learn more by clicking through this link:

If you believe your shipment has been lost in transit, please convo me directly before using Etsy's "report" button. I will work with you to track the item and, if necessary, refund your payment in full or send you a replacement item at no extra cost to you.
Refunds and Exchanges
I hope that you'll be happy with your purchase, but if you are not for any reason, I will fully refund any purchase that is returned within 30 days of receipt.

If you'd like for me to repair or replace a defective or damaged item, I will bear the cost of returning the item to you.

Refunds will be issued immediately upon my receipt of the returned item.

Please convo me before returning an item and rating my shop so that I can do whatever I can to provide you with the best customer service possible.

Caring For Your Jewelry and Repairs

Many of my pieces are delicate, and while they are sturdy enough to withstand everyday wear, please take care in handling them. They will last longer if you avoid swimming or bathing while wearing them, and sterling silver pieces will be less likely to tarnish if you store them in an airtight container. Also, jewelry pieces made with fine chain may knot or tangle if they are mixed with other pieces or otherwise not stored carefully, and wire-wrapping can become dislodged if snagged when putting on or taking off clothing.

If one of your pieces does become damaged in wear, please feel free to convo me about repairs. I'm happy to try to fix any piece for a small return shipping charge.

Note Regarding Photographs

I try my best to capture the true colors of my items, but differences in computer monitors may cause colors to vary in appearance.

Many of my photos are close-ups taken with a macro lens --- the items will appear larger than they do in real life to give you a better idea of details and workmanship. Please refer to the individual measurements of each piece and the comparison photos to get an accurate idea of the actual size of an item. Keep in mind that most of my pieces are quite dainty and made with delicate chain, fine wire, and very small beads and charms.

I use protective bubble mailers for shipping. I place each piece in a small plastic baggie for protection and then package it in a decorative envelope that is perfect for gift-giving.
