About

Crafter to Engineer and Back Again

Crafting has always been a part of my life. While I will try almost any craft, I always go back to sewing.

I made my first outfit when I was 12yrs old as part of a 4-H fashion show and realized just how much you can do with some fabric, a needle and thread. As I grew I found a "real life" direction for my creativity and need for technical preciseness... engineering. Over the years I found ways to incorporate my creative spirit into my schooling and my eventual engineering career.

I loved my engineering job. I had one amazing "craft project" after another. I went from pattern design and layout with fabric to designing structures out of metal. In 2008 "real life" struck and I found my way back with my beloved sewing. It is a huge part of my life now. Pattern design and construction satisfies my engineering side while my crafty side could not be happier.
