A lifetime of crafting.

After decades of collecting craft materials and being pulled towards shiny beads like a little magpie, several years ago The Knitter decided to build on a history of jewelry making to make jewels for fiber work and Little Knitty Bird was born. Little Knitty Bird flew with us from Colorado to Virginia and from suburbs to our final roost on a farm in the Virginia countryside.

It was at Honeysuckle Hill that we finally began our great homestead experiment known as Hootenanny Hollow Homestead and two years, crates of vegetables, bowls of eggs, and a gaggle of ducks and chickens later we're ready to start the next project. Now as the Knitter and the Homesteader we embark on going beyond stitch markers and adding hand crafted soaps, nostepinnes, and a variety of other items for home and hearth. We test our recipes and designs at home and when perfected offer them to our customers, from our farm to yours.

Welcome to Battle Mountain Makers, formerly Little Knitty Bird.

Nearly five years ago Little Knitty Bird was born as a result of a lifetime of crafting and a decade of falling in love with knitting and all things fiber. Now we're expanding, adding another maker and an expanding inventory to include not just tools for the fiber arts, but also for home and hearth.

At Battle Mountain Makers we firmly believe that the best products are those made by hand with intention and care. We only make items that we use ourselves and every product line is tested in our own kitchens and craft spaces. It is our hope that every item we sell serves it's owner well, from our farm to yours.
