      My husband's father like to give all the kids nick names. When I was pregnant with my daughter, there were baby owls that were born in their back yard and he nicknamed her Owl. He even carved a cute little owl totem for her. I decided on Little Owl and started making crib sets for babies - the Nest part just fit and my shop became Little Owl's Nest.

      I first started sewing when I was 13. I still own that very first pair of scissors. Throughout high school and college I worked at various fabric-craft stores. Over the years there have been many prom dresses, Halloween costumes, home decor and my daughter's crib set and nursery.

      I earned my Fine Arts degree in Interior Design at KU and worked as a professional corporate designer for 12 years until I became a stay at home mom and opened my shop on Etsy. Running my own business is crazy at times but I loving working for myself.
