I commissioned Nancy to make three preemie-sized babies, with a special request that they be anatomically correct. From the beginning, she communicated quickly and regularly, even sending photo updates at every stage. She worked fast and met every request. When I received the package, I literally gasped--these babies are perfection! I have been a lifelong collector of soft-sculpture dolls, and these little poopies rival some of my favorites. Nancy is super talented and awesome to work with. I'm hoping she makes an even smaller size soon since I love tiny babies. Favorite etsy artist for sure!

Super quick shipping (considering I live in Hawaii)! The colors are exactly as they appear and I can't wait to get my Baable Hat on the needles! Customer service is also very prompt and Nancy is more than accommodating to help fix an issue or hiccup. Thank you so much! :))

30 Years of Mixed Crafty Arts

The very first little poopie soft sculpture doll was recently pulled from a dusty box where she had been sleeping for almost three decades. Despite the rather crude and simple construction, this doll now has the seat of honor in a glassed-in display case in the little poopie work room.

Hand- and machine-sewn by an eager 8 year old, she has only 4 fingers hand and 4 toes on each foot, but despite the fact that her head is a misshapen half-moon tacked on with overly large stitches, she epitomizes the general attitude behind little poopie.

"If I can see how it's made, I can make one myself!"

For decades, little poopie's doll-making leaned heavily on a structure of other artists' work. In fact, that very first soft sculpture doll was lovingly bestowed upon her mother as a thank you for a recent Cabbage Patch Kid adoption.

In high school, Little Poopie painted porcelain dolls pulled from molds at a local doll shop.

In college, the molded porcelain pieces were replaced with hand-sculpted polymer figures and dolls which fit right in to the popular reborning scene. Many of these one-of-a-kind dolls went to friends and family over the years.

After college came several years designing dolls in the commercial doll industry;. Here, little poopie built upon and brought together parts and pieces, often directing free-lance doll artists to bring a number of American Girl characters into being.

In recent years, little poopie has focused more on creating new dolls from brand new ideas rather than using impressions from other sources. The little poopies you see today and a blending of skills learned from each and every genre passed through over the years, bringing together skills such as sewing, sculpting, painting, wig-making, knitting, and more.

All of little poopie's patterns are drawn by hand, often on construction paper or on the backs of discarded crayon masterpieces contributed by her family. Each face is lovingly sculpted out of the fabric, much as her earlier polymer clay faces emerged from Cernit and Sculpy.

One slow step at a time brings each little poopie to life. Each baby is lovingly dressed and played with just enough to make sure that no detail is left ignored. Often, babies will go through three or four outfit changes before final photographs are taken, just to be sure everything is perfect.

Little poopie doesn't just combine media and skills, though. Many of the supplies and outfits used to create little poopie's dolls are vintage items sourced from all over the world. From ebay to local antique and craft stores, there are even a few pieces here and there brought home from trips around the world. In this way, each and every little poopie doll is truly unique.

Little poopie as an etsy shop is a relatively new creation, but the dolls, knits, and other items carried within it come with a deep appreciation for all of the years spent bringing it into being.

I try to make all listings as accurate and descriptive as possible.

If there is an error or misrepresentation on my part, I will happily refund the cost of shipping as well as the cost of the item upon return of the item.

If there is a defect in the item, I will repair it for free and return it to you at my cost.

If an item is damaged at any point after purchase, it can be returned for repair in many cases. There may be fees involved in repairs. You will be responsible for shipping unless the damage is clearly a defect in manufacturing or due to shipping errors by the USPS.
All payment is due at the time that you purchase the item. Items will not be held without prior consent. Payment is collected by Paypal and all fees are included in the listed price. Any non-paying customers will find themselves no longer welcome in our shop and any items that were not paid for will be re-listed.

The total due may be split into smaller payments if arrangements are made ahead of time. Please contact this if you are interested in this policy.
I ship pre-made items within 1-2 business days. Custom orders will ship upon completion, usually within 2 weeks. All items will be shipped with tracking, via USPS. Rush may be available. Please contact me for more information.
Additional policies and FAQs
Custom orders are more than welcome. We love the challenge, so don't feel shy about asking for what you want. Generally, custom orders are priced the same as pre-made items. The only exception to this policy is when you have requested a special feature which requires additional materials not normally covered in the standard costs.

With a custom order, an initial nonrefundable deposit is made to cover the costs of materials used. A payment plan is agreed upon before work starts. Work will begin upon receipt of the deposit. Once all payements have been received, the item ships out. If you should change your mind after work has started, I will refund all monies paid EXCEPT the deposit. The partially finished or finished item belongs to little poopie unless fully paid for.
