Handmade. Modern. Organic.
About Me...
I’m a mom who left a career in fashion to stay home with my son. Like many new moms, I obsessed about styling the perfect nursery – every piece counts in a small Brooklyn apartment! However, the picky perfectionist inside me was never satisfied by what was available out there. So I picked up my pencils, gathered some fabrics, and set to work on the perfectly coordinated décor my yet-to-be-born son would obviously require for his happy babyhood.
Two years down the road, after moving to the suburbs, I felt I needed a creative outlet. I decided to take my roots as a designer, and my new “mom” wisdom, and create a fun and unique collection of baby products for others to enjoy. Painting, drawing and sewing came naturally to me since I was a kid, and for the majority of my adult life, I designed collections for famous children’s apparel brands. I spent countless hours in front of my Mac designing fabric prints professionally – including traveling to China to oversee their production.
The corporate years are behind me now, and I’m taking things a little slower. I’m focused on creating a line of unique, high-quality, all-natural products that I hope you become as passionate about as I am!
What is Little Pop Design?
Little Pop is a brand of décor, accessories and other lifestyle gear for babies and toddlers. I decided to use only organic and natural materials to bring fresh products into a lacking market. I never realized how sensitive babies can be to chemicals and synthetic fabrics until I figured out my son had a severe reaction anytime he hung out with polyester. It's been banned in our house, ever since!
Handmade
Little Pop products are designed, cut and sewn in my home studio in Long Island, NY. My studio is bright teal, the happiest, sunniest room in the house. It's my personal oasis of sanity, no screaming kids or dirty dog paws allowed.
Modern
All the latest trends are considered when putting together a Little Pop collection. The prints are clean and modern, without being overly cutesy. Some fabrics are purchased, but most are original designs using a combination of hand artwork and computer design. This allows the creation of truly unique and carefully coordinated products. Function and ease of use is as important to modern moms as aesthetics, and each item is analyzed to improve upon the standard.
Organic
As explained above, I am truly passionate about using all-natural and organic products. Every single component, down to the thread, is the cleanest, safest, softest and most natural available. I always use organic materials when possible. It's not just about being environmentally friendly - I strongly believe that anything that touches your child's skin should be absolutely chemical-free - it's just the right thing to do. Organic materials are a relatively new concept, and although not everything can be made all-natural at this time, there are new products developed every day due to the growing demand of this very important market. Little Pop strives to offer top-of-the line organic and natural materials.
