Such an easy seller to work with, she made a wonderful custom order for my husband and my son. The hats are great and fit them both wonderfully! Thanks again for superb service!

About

So to be perfectly honest, my shop came about because I am a cheapskate.

I know I should say it was that my grandmother taught me to crochet when I was very young, which is true. And that I have been doing it ever since, which is not. Really, it all happened the year I got good and fed up with my husband at Christmas. You see, in my family we all exchange gifts if, and only if, we spend the holiday together. But his family? Oh no! Every long distance cousin gets a gift. Even the neighbors of the long distance cousins get gifts. And it was becoming increasingly harder to find gifts that were less than $10 each, for all of the thirty plus family members that we (that means me) had to buy presents for. Plus shipping, cross-country and international no less. If you are good at math, you can see it was really adding up. And I had had it. So I told him that year everyone was getting a scarf!! I figured we'd save on the shipping there too since heck, how much could a scarf weigh? And I got to work.

Thirty some odd scarves later, a nasty thing happened. I became addicted to crochet. I started making beanies, and shawls, and whatever popped into my mind that I should create. I was having fun. Lots of fun. And by golly I wasn't stopping. And I was staying up late. And getting up early. And the closet was getting full. And it was only March. The next Christmas was nine months away! So I turned to Etsy.

And this is my hobby shop. I know there are lots of things on here about "quit your day job" and all that business. But the truth is, I love my day job and I'm not quitting it any time soon. So I have my Etsy shop to keep my hobby habit going, and the hall closet just empty enough between Christmases, when I'm liable to give it all away. Everything in here is unique and of my own creation. I don't work from any patterns and I don't know what I'm going to make when I buy a ball (or twenty balls) of yarn. I choose by color and let it guide me. I like to play and have fun and crochet on a whim.

Hello and welcome to my shop! Here you will find unique, fun, and colorful creations of my own design. I most enjoy making scarves, but also dabble with beanies, shawls, and whatever else occurs to me to make. I work on a whim, not from a pattern. And I love to work in color. I often get requests for black and white, which of course I can do, but I love a good challenge, so don't be afraid to send me a conversation and ask for something! Bring it.

I work primarily with acrylic yarn because let's face it, it's washable. As in machine washable. I live in jeans and cotton and I don't feel that dry-cleaning really gets things clean. So I prefer to wash. I also am very sensitive to wool and refuse to make products that itch. I want my garments to feel soft and cozy, something you'll never want to take off. With that said, I do work with wool blends and fragile yarns on occasion, and make sure to note the proper care when used in my products.

Everything is made in a smoke-free (can't stand it) and pet-free (allergic) environment and has only been modeled, not excessively worn.

Thank you for visiting my shop today. I hope you find what you are looking for! And if not, I hope you ask me to make what you are looking for!!

Payment
At the moment, I only accept payment through PayPal.
Shipping
I ship via USPS. To keep shipping rates low and affordable, I often send in envelopes or flat-rate packaging.

I am happy to coordinate special shipping (in boxes, express for the holidays, APO addresses, signature required, etc.). Please send me a convo with any questions or concerns you may have. I have before and can again create a special listing with specific items you intend to purchase and the best shipping for you. Don't be afraid to ask!

I use delivery confirmation on domestic orders, which I pay at my own expense and do not include in shipping charges. If you purchase from me and live in the United States, I will send you the tracking information so that you can see when your package will arrive and we can both be on the lookout.

I hold proof of mailing on international orders.

Please double check your address before completing your purchase. It is your responsibility to know if you can receive sizeable packages at that location. If an item is returned to me because you have provided an inadequate address, you will be contacted and asked for the additional shipping fees to get the item to you a second time.

I ship once the payment process is complete. All of the items in my shop are already made (not made-to-order) so they go out the same day if I see your order before the post offices closes, and the next day if not. Shipping usually takes 1-2 days within the United States and longer for international. If the post office gives me an estimated delivery date, I will send you a convo with that information.

Custom orders will ship once they are complete. When quoting a custom order, I always include an estimated completion date, usually within the week. If you request a custom order, I will send you a conversation to say that it has been completed and is being shipped. You should expect it in the same delivery time frame as noted above.
Refunds and Exchanges
I do my best to package and ensure that every item arrives safely and in good condition. I track items to make sure they do not get lost.

Almost all of my items are one size fits all and do have some stretch. If you feel that you would like an item of a specific size however (for example some collars are better made custom fit), please request it custom to ensure that it will fit you properly.

I realize that sometimes there are factors beyond our control. If you have any concerns at all, please send me a convo. I sincerely want to make all of my customers happy and I will strive to do that in every way.
Additional policies and FAQs
I can include cards and holiday or special occasion wrapping if you are interested. Please don't be afraid to ask me about it!
