Oh my! This is a nice, soft and slightly spicy rose scent.

Lovely rosy cheeks done the 1920's way!. This takes a bit to get used to using , as its really liquid-y. This is really a concentrated color, so a quick dab with give you a nice flush. The red color is very natural looking, despite looking rather bright in the jar.

Works great as a dry shampoo for oily hair! The pink hair powder used by itself gave my ash blond hair a very subtle strawberry tint. It also did not bother my sensitive skin. I will be using this a lot!

Bottling our 1772 jasmine hair oil! This preparation is excellent for conditioning, hair growth, taming unruly frizzy, coarse, curly, and dry hair. It helps strengthen dry roots and adds moisture to any type of hair! A great historical recipe!

About

Live History!

We are dedicated to keeping history alive & specialize in reproducing exact historical cosmetic & apothecary recipes & so much more! If you love Naturally Organic Products and History this the shop for you!

We started with a passion in 2008 to produce amazing historically accurate clothing using appropriate draping and hand sewing techniques. We were able to provide our clients with historical pieces that were never before available. In our journey we have worked with some amazing museum, forts, and wonderful clients all over the world. Since then, my passion for sewing and history is still the same, but noticing the historical communities were deficient in proper historically accurate cosmetics and apothecary, we changed the shops focus from sewing to naturally historical cosmetics & apothecary! (don't worry we are still sewing in our free time) This is a relatively new subject matter that had previously been ignored and may times mislabeled. We were the first to start digging these old recipes back up making them available so together we can re-learn the old forgotten history of our ancestors.

I have been studying plants, herbs, & historical recipes since I was a child. My Grandparents educated me on them & furthered my passion for history & historically natural healing products, once used by our past generations. Now I am able to use all I have learned and to provide historical recipes that were last made hundreds of years go. People think all historical makeup & apothecary products were dangerous, laced with lead and other poisons. I hope to dispel this myth because so many of them are all natural and good for you. I follow my heart and listen to my soul. I love what I do and feel like I'm making my ancestors proud.

All of our reproduced cosmetics are not only completely historical, but they are all natural which means no hidden chemicals. We use only certified Organic and naturally sustainable ingredients. And best of all.. They WORK! Get back to your Roots! Be Natural. Live Historical.

Frequently asked questions

Custom and personalized orders

If you are interested in a Custom Order please send us a message. We may or may not have the ability to fulfill your Custom Order Request. We will do our best. Please Ask Us.

Custom Boxed Sets are available. The Box is $5.00 and you may add what you like to it. Please notify us and I can set up a custom order for you.

Care instructions

Each product will have different care instructions. We feel most are pretty straight forward and are usually listed in the listing. If you have questions. Please Ask.
Note: With these recipes and products being all natural and organic as well as historical- they are prone to change consistency in varying weather conditions. That does not take away from their potency or their quality- it just means that it's a natural product without any chemical additives. All Our products may melt. We can't guarentee what consistency they will arrive in during the summer months. If this happens- put them in the fridge and give them a stir once cool.

Gift wrapping and packaging

Let us know if this is a gift. We have special cards to put in with the order. Let us know what you would like to say and we can write a little note on the card.

Gift Wrap. We generally don't gift wrap - We do wrap many of our items in fancy paper to begin with. As always a gift box is recommended. But please ask. We are happy to accommodate if we are able.
