From the day that I painted my entire body green in pre-school by parents always knew that I would grow up to be a free spirit. You won't find me behind a computer or working in a cubicle. You will find me covered with clay and paint from doing what I love!

Working with clay provides me the opportunity to create something functional from what was once dirt! Patterned doodles influenced by traditional henna designs envelop my pottery. I love the lacy, active lines, and cultural associations of these rhythms. I create rich surfaces using bright majolica decorating colors, such as chartreuse and turquoise, on neutral backgrounds. I also consider line quality in making my forms, which have a planar shift, separated by a line, to give depth to my surface designs and the piece as a whole. I also like to create monochromatic designs with neutral tones to give an antique look to some of my pottery.

I like incorporating henna patterns in my pottery since many cultures find comfort in these designs and use them in their everyday lives. I intend for my work to be welcoming and enjoyable to those who use it.
