COMPATIBILITY:
Vinyl is highly compatible with glass, window, smooth metal surfaces. Vinyl usually works well with painted wood. Plastic surfaces may/may not work. The biggest compatibility concern is with paint/vinyl, since some paints have additives which affect vinyl adhesion. Test—Don't guess! Contact us for a free tester (include your mailing address.) As a general rule...
• SUITABLE Surfaces: most smooth to semi-smooth, non-porous surfaces (lightly-textured walls, wallpaper, glass surfaces, floor tiles, furniture, smooth metal, mirrors, etc.) Works best with semi-gloss or gloss enamel paint. 'Green' paint (Low VOC, VOC FREE) may be vinyl-resistant, and require extra effort to release the vinyl onto the painted surface. Allow newly painted surfaces to cure for THREE weeks!
• UNSUITABLE Surfaces: rough, uneven, porous, highly-textured surfaces (brick, stucco, fabric, etc.) Avoid latex paint, matte or flat wall paint, anti-graffiti or stain blocker paint.

WALL DECAL INFO:
• We use high-quality wall vinyl featuring a matte finish (giving the hand-painted look) and removable adhesive (similar to a Post-It Note.)
• Wall vinyl is removable, but not reusable. It is a single-use product.
• This product is a one-piece decal; it comes pre-spaced & ready-to-apply.
No glue, paint, or special tools needed. (Optional: scissors, painter's tape, level, squeegee tool or credit card.)
• Say goodbye to CrOoKeD decals: We feel it's unprofessional to expect the buyer to eyeball or second-guess decal placement. Therefore, our decals are marked with LEVELING LINES to ensure perfect, straight placement. Simply keep the line level (adjust decal as needed) when applying the decal.
• (If applicable): Our two-part decals are marked with BRACKETS, so aligning multiple pieces is easy and precise! Again, no guessing on placement.

WALL DECAL FAQs:
Q: What is the difference between MATTE and GLOSSY VINYL?
A: When comparing products, realize many companies use permanent, glossy vinyl for interior applications. How to tell? The pictured vinyl is glossy, shiny, or the description states "removal requires a blow-dryer/heat source." Rest assured, we offer the right product for the right job: matte (removable) vinyl for interiors, glossy (permanent) vinyl for cars. Additionally, we NEVER use inferior, “generic” vinyl (infamous for causing damage.) Sure, we could skimp on our end, but we won’t! We meticulously produce each piece as if it were our own. We LOVE what we do--producing high-quality products at affordable prices—and it shows!

Q: THE TRANSFER TAPE PULLED AWAY & THE LETTERING REMAINS ON THE BACKING!
A: DO NOT PULL the transfer tape from the FRONT side; the transfer tape may lift without grabbing the vinyl lettering. Should this happen, simply re-place the transfer tape against the vinyl lettering again, and re-burnish (rub) to restore the transfer tape and vinyl lettering. Proceed again, placing the product TRANSFER TAPE side down. Carefully peel the backing paper away. The transfer tape and the vinyl lettering should remain together. If not, stop and repeat the previous steps. Slow and steady wins the race...take your time! Remember: PEEL THE BACKING PAPER AWAY...DON'T LIFT OR PULL THE TRANSFER TAPE!

Q: AIR BUBBLES!
A: If you work slowly—not quickly "slapping" the vinyl lettering onto the mounting surface—you probably won't encounter this problem. Large trapped air bubbles may be released by rubbing and working them to the vinyl edge. Smaller bubbles often "gas out" if you wait awhile. Remember that pesky bubbles can be released by pricking with a pin, then smoothing the vinyl. Remember: bubbles that seem obvious close-up—viewed with eagle eyes—may not be so noticeable when viewed from a normal distance!

Q: OOPS — I MESSED UP!
A: Relax…it’s okay! If you “mess up” while applying the design, convo us to order a discounted replacement.

Q: HOW TO CLEAN?
A: Wipe with damp cloth—avoid abrasives, chemicals, scrubbing.

Q: HOW TO REMOVE?
A: Lift the decal's edge to break the bond, then peel with fingers. The vinyl material is designed to remove cleanly (no residue) from surfaces that are in good condition. Although unlikely: applying anything to a painted surface runs the slight chance of needing minor paint touch-up.

DECAL TIPS:

DOUBLE-CHECK SIZING:
To accurately gauge the scale of the vinyl decal, please compare the measurements listed against the application area. If you would like a smaller/larger decal, convo us! Additionally, please indicate the dimensions of any space restrictions.

OVER-SIZED DECALS:
Tape the top (or side) of the decal very well (so it doesn't shift!) Then, cut the decal into manageable sections, and apply the decal in sections vs. the entire decal. As long as you leave the decal taped/hinged, everything still lines up!

REMOVING TRANSFER TAPE:
• LETTERS: Pull the Transfer Tape from the left to the right (with the direction of the letters, not against the direction of the letters.)
• NUMBERS: Pull the Transfer Tape from right to left (with the direction of the numbers, not against the direction of the numbers.)

WATER TRICK for REMOVING TRANSFER TAPE:
(This tip works for paper tape--not the clear tape!) Spritz/sponge the Transfer Tape with water (determine if your surface can get wet, of course!) Allow it to saturate for a few minutes. Voila! The tape loosens, and removes easily.

CAR & BOAT DECALS
Installation uses the same technique as Wall Vinyl. Car & boat decals may be installed on any smooth, wax-free surface including glass, Plexiglass, painted surfaces, fiberglass, plastics, etc.

• On freshly painted vehicles, allow sufficient time for the paint to cure. Contact your paint manufacturer for specific cure times. Typically, the cure time can range from 45 – 90 days.
• Wait a few days before washing or waxing a newly installed decal.

CARE:
• When washing decals, first rinse away sediments on the graphic. Then, using a sponge, apply a solution of water and mild car wash detergent. Clean the graphic from top to bottom, allowing the dirty water to run downward. Always rinse the graphic with clean water, ensuring that you do not spray the graphic at a sharp angle (this may cause the edges to peel or lift.) Allow the graphic to air dry or use a microfiber cloth.

• Decals may be protecting by applying a silicone or Teflon based polish that has been designed for vehicle graphics.

• Avoid the use of fuels, carnauba-based wax, as well as dirt, small rocks, mechanical brush washing, pressure washing, and turbo-pressure nozzles. These may cause chips, peeling or lifting of decal edges, scratches, fading, and dulling of the decal surface.

REMOVAL:
Removing permanent vinyl requires either a heat source (blow dryer) to loosen the adhesive, or a chemical product designed for decal removal (check automotive section or auto store.) Once removed, there will be some adhesive residue; clean with a citrus-based cleaner, or a product such as Goo-Gone.

CAR VINYL TIPS:

• On car windows, white is the most visible color. Likewise, yellow attracts attention. Generally speaking, light colors offer best visibility.

• READABILITY: A manuscript (print) style of lettering is easiest to read; choose a bold or block style font. Use script (cursive) lettering sparingly, as an accent.

• VISIBILITY: For advertising messages on car window, we recommend a minimum of 2" tall lettering. As a general rule, add 1" of letter height for every 10 feet of viewing distance. For example, 3" letters are best viewed at 30'-up to 100'...4" letters are best viewed at 40'-up to 150', etc. We recommend 4" type for headlines, and 3" type for website advertising.
1. Keep the text short, brief—memorable—since drivers don't write while driving.
2. Capitalize when appropriate.
3. Use uppercase & lowercase letters to improve readability and enhance appeal.
4. Add a border to increase reading speed by 26%.
5. Add a second color to increase retention by 78%. Adding color contrast to key words makes them "pop."
6. Add a graphic to convey information (a lawnmower graphic for lawn service, etc.)

Decal Compatibility - Walls & Paint

Vinyl is NOT compatible with all paint types/surfaces. Please TEST...Don't guess! FREE Tester: http://etsy.me/1iNPeLq

DRYWALL:
The surface must be clean (dust-free), dry, and completely cured (allow newly painted surfaces to outgas for 3 weeks!) Vinyl is compatible with most SMOOTH to semi-smooth, non-porous surfaces (lightly-textured walls, wallpaper, etc.) Vinyl is most compatible with semi-gloss/gloss enamel paint.

Vinyl DOES NOT work with rough, uneven, porous, highly-textured surfaces (brick, stucco, etc.) Avoid latex paint, matte or flat wall paint (these paints act like dust), "green" paint (zero VOC, VOC-free) or paint with anti-graffiti agents/stain blockers (these paints have additives that'll release vinyl from wall.)

Decal Compatibility - Glass Windows, Metal, Laptops, Canvas

GLASS (mirrors, car windows): Zero compatibility issues.

METAL: must be smooth, non-dimpled surface.

LAPTOP: Vinyl works great placed directly on laptop surface. It also works on leather cases (it won't work with neoprene/fabric-type cases.) With certain plastic cases (silicone, rubberized plastic): the decal may/may not work. It may be resistant to being applied (taking more effort to coax the decal off the transfer tape/release onto plastic surface—but it'll hold well once applied)—while other times, the vinyl and plastic are flat-out incompatible, no matter how hard you try!

CANVAS: Vinyl only works when canvas fibers are sealed with 2+ layers of Mod Podge or acrylic craft paint.

Decal Care & Removal

• CLEAN: wipe with damp cloth—avoid abrasives, chemicals, scrubbing.

• REMOVE: lift the decal's edge to break the bond, then peel with fingers. This vinyl is designed to remove cleanly (no residue) from surfaces that are in good condition. Although unlikely: whenever applying something to a painted surface, there's the slight chance that a minor paint touch-up may be needed.
