Art inspired by story, place and a little magic — created by Ljo-Flo in Whitby, North Yorkshire
Welcome to Ljo-Flo
I'm an artist based in Whitby, North Yorkshire, where the dramatic coastline, ancient history and wonderfully atmospheric surroundings provide an endless source of inspiration.
My work began with acrylic flow painting - allowing colour, movement and chance to create something completely individual. Over time, I've developed that into my own distinctive style, combining original painted artwork with detailed illustrative elements to create pieces inspired by places, stories, music and a touch of the mysterious.
The Le Fay Collection is the first collection to be showcased here.
It grew from the original artwork I created for singer-songwriter Carrie Martin's album, Le Fay - a project inspired by Morgana le Fay, mythology and the rich, mysterious world surrounding the album and its music.
I've taken elements of that artwork beyond the album sleeve to create a collection of art and objects including prints, framed canvas art, T-shirts, coasters and candles.
A very special piece is also on its way: The Le Fay Heart Pendant. Each pendant will contain a tiny, individually selected fragment of original hand-painted Ljo-Flo artwork beneath glass, so no two will ever be exactly alike.
Le Fay is just the beginning. Other Ljo-Flo collections will follow, including work inspired by Whitby's landscape, Abbey, ammonites and Whitby Jet.
