I love the amount of inside pockets, the lighter lining color, the wider strap, the soft leather, the durable zipper! Like, what's not to like? It could perhaps be a tad bigger, but it is not really a big problem and suits my needs very well. I love it. Well done! MMD Alaska

I am thrilled with my bag. I have been a fan of LoHi for years and could not let this one get away. Beatiful materials, incredible craftsmanship and funky style was just what I was looking for. Total core.
Design with a (re)Purpose.
I started LoHi Bags back in 2009 while I was living in the Lower Highlands neighborhood of Denver, a diverse urban community, right near downtown. Products are made with as much upcycled or repurposed material as possible. This includes leather jackets, belts, upholstery scraps, vintage zippers, belt buckles, etc.
I'm a big fan of sourcing materials from local thrift shops that support social good, such as Arc and Goodwill. Ralph's Power Sewing in Jefferson Park is my favorite neighborhood supply shop. The leather I use is stylish and weathered with a few blemishes here or there, but that is the beauty of it. Each bag has a history.
My design aesthetic is pretty simple. I like pretty basic designs with a couple pockets or a zipper but nothing too fussy. I would carry and use every bag that I make because it's my style! I like to mix neutral fabric - browns, greys, tans - with little pops of color, like a bright green zipper or hot pink stripe. I don't use any patterns, so the design and construction process is pretty organic. The bags have an urban/bohemian vibe that fit the neighborhood and are truly one of a kind.

My philosophy is to produce one of kind bags - both to give customers the feeling of uniqueness and to keep me on my toes! I sincerely hope all my customers enjoy carrying their new bag as much as I enjoyed making it.
Much of the fabric I use is repurposed, upcycled or recycled. For example, if I am using an old leather coat and turning it into a bag, I do my best to cut the fabric pieces that are most in tact. Because it is repurposed fabric, it may appear a little weathered or worn, or may contain a couple of nicks or scratches. I do my best to note these in the item description. The leather is cleaned with leather conditioner.
If you have ANY questions whatsoever about the item (size, color, fabric, etc.) please do not hesitate to contact me. I am happy to send along additional photos if that helps in your decision. If I answer a question and you change your mind about the item, no problem! I appreciate the time you spent viewing my shop.
