A heartfelt tribute to my love for batik patterns, its intricate creation, and the cultural heritage I continue to preserve in this new shop
Welcome to our batik wonderland!
I’m Nancy — a devoted crafter, yarn enthusiast, baker, batik lover, and proud mom. This shop is my heartfelt project, born from my lifelong love for batik: its intricate patterns, its slow and beautiful creation process, and my wish to keep this cultural heritage alive and appreciated around the world.
My journey with batik began when I was just 10 years old, crafting my very first piece in school. Batik taught me patience, intention, and the beauty of creating something one dot and one line at a time. That same care guides everything I do here — from selecting each batik design to photographing every item myself (often during my kid’s nap time!). Every item you see is ready to ship, lovingly handled, and cared for with attention. Packaging and shipping are a family effort too — my wonderful husband lends a hand, making this truly a small, dedicated team effort. What you receive is the result of genuine hard work and heartfelt passion.
Batik is deeply woven into my Indonesian heritage. It’s more than fabric — it’s part of daily life, celebrations, traditions, and family stories. From sarongs and baby carriers to formal attire for important events, batik carries meaning. Today, it has also found a place in modern life, appearing in bags, accessories, and home décor. Through this shop, I hope to share that beauty and cultural richness with you.
Since 2013, we’ve poured 12 years of love, dedication, and craftsmanship into this shop. Our track record — thousands of sales and hundreds of glowing reviews — reflects the trust and joy we’ve built with customers worldwide.
🌼 About Our Shop Transition (Lolachoco → LolachocoNL)
If you’ve been with us for a long time, you may notice that our shop looks a little different now. Our family relocated from Indonesia to Malaysia and now to the Netherlands, and with each move, our shop grew and evolved with us. The heart of the shop remains exactly the same — same owner, same passion, same dedication, same handmade care — but the location and some details naturally changed as our family settled into a new chapter.
For full transparency, you can still visit our original shop here:
https://www.etsy.com/shop/Lolachoco
It holds our 12-year history, over 2,000 sales, and hundreds of wonderful reviews from customers around the world.
To help everyone feel safe and confident, I warmly encourage you to drop me a message in our old shop. I will personally reply and send you an exclusive discount code that you can use here in our new shop. It’s a simple way to verify that you’re speaking to the real Nancy — and a little thank-you gift for supporting our long journey.
To avoid confusion:
🌸 We only have two official shops — our original shop Lolachoco and this new one.
If you see any other shop using our photos, descriptions, or titles, please know it is not related to us.
Your message in the old shop is the easiest way to confirm authenticity and avoid imposters.
All products, photos, descriptions, and customer service are still handled personally by me, just as they have been since 2013. Nothing about our commitment, quality, or authenticity has changed. This “new” shop is simply the continuation of our long journey, carried forward with the same love and craftsmanship you’ve always known.
🌸 A Gentle Note to Fellow Sellers
If you love what you see here, I’m truly happy — batik is meant to be shared and appreciated. But please be kind and respectful. Instead of copying our descriptions, images, product details, or policies, feel free to send me a message to share your appreciation or let me know how our shop inspired you. I believe you can create something wonderful and unique of your own.
If you still choose to use our descriptions, pictures, or titles without permission, please understand that we will take firm action. Respecting each other’s hard work keeps our community strong and fair.
Every word and image here is created with care and a sprinkle of Nancy’s magic. Let’s all celebrate batik in our own special ways. 🌸💛
