This was extremely high interest for my husband, a geologist. The seller was wonderful to work with.

We bought this for my husband for Father's Day. The seller was more than accommodating in shipping this to us in time for the holiday. (We tried to give her plenty of lead time, but she was outstanding.)

My husband is a retired geologist and we got this item for him for Father's Day. It was extremely high interest. The seller also provided additional background information on the item, which added to its interest.

Love of Vintage - Love of History

I distinctly remember the day I discovered Etsy - I spent hours browsing, calling my husband over to take a peek at the treasures I discovered. "Look at this Honey", "Honey, come take a look" - is all my husband heard for the next couple of weeks - that little phrase became my shop name when I decided to start selling some two years later.

At first I didn't think about selling. I had been in "collecting" mode since my late teens and frankly, have so many things I love to collect that the idea of paring down never crossed my mind. I collect typewriters, books, 1920's office equipment, marbles, books, hankies, doilies, books, circular objects of all sorts, typefaces and craft supplies. Did I mention books?

Sometime around typewriter #7 - I realized that I would have to rethink my strategy. In 2005 I married my soulmate, who collects clocks, tools, rusty implements and assorted odds and ends. We both love to salvage shreds of history here and there, and we came into the marriage with healthy collections of our own, although mine is admittedly wayyy bigger. David, is a minimalist , however, and we had to set some ground rules - and so I have decided to pare down my collections to let others enjoy them - which at the same time allows me to refine my own style and enjoy the collections I have rather then burying them in unsightly heaps. This has also resulted in my kitchen finally having the 1950's yellow retro style I have desired for so long, instead of being the mash of 50's, 60's, 70's and 90's that it used to be.

Little known fact - I have a collection of waffle irons which I started collecting when I was 16. (Yes - I use them to make waffles)

I hope you find something you love in the pages of my shop and perhaps start a collection of your own or find "that's just the thing to complete this room" item.
When you buy from my shop, you are also helping me fulfill my dream of working together with my husband in our shop in Wakefield Michigan, where he currently carves with a chainsaw - it is my hope to work side by side with my husband, and spend my days making rustic and contemporary wood furniture.

I love all things vintage - learning history though objects is one of my favorite pastimes. My item descriptions are oftentimes long and quirky - mostly because deep down I am a frustrated writer. My motto? "Life is too short to drink cheap coffee"

Born to run wild but only too happy to work alongside his human companion, Kitten is pure love. Especially good with string. Not all that helpful with tape.

Shop policies

I do my best to accurately describe all items. Due to the vintage nature of the items, it's not possible to say with certainty if for example they have been in contact with pets or cigarette smoke. You should know that I do have cats and I'm allergic to mold and cigarette smoke - so while my collection steers clear of items that I'm allergic to - it may not be 100 % clear of cat dander.
If you have questions or concerns please contact me before you buy.
I want you to be happy with your purchase, and I want the things I love to go to homes that will appreciate them.

If you need to hold an item - please convo me and I will gladly hold it for up to two weeks.

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy gift cards
At this time I accept PayPal and Etsy direct payments only.
I will gladly ship internationally. If you see something you like - and you are international - please convo me include City, Country and Postal Code - I'll come up with an estimate and we'll go from there.

The Buyer is responsible for any Customs Fees, Charges, taxes etc.

I ship within three days of payment, by USPS, and I usually go to the Post office on Mondays and Thursdays.

If you need to change the ship to address - PLEASE, pretty please with a cherry on top contact me through the Etsy Convo system and NOT through e-mail. I cannot guarantee I will respond to an e-mail and I can guarantee a quick response through the convo system - in most cases within the day.

Most items will get a tracking number. I will send the tracking number along with a confirmation when the item is shipped. For shipping of breakable items - like glass or delicate vintage things - insurance covers both buyer and seller - and I think it's only prudent to get it, so it will be added into the cost of the shipping.

IMPORTANT - I still have to figure out how to determine costs when combining shipping. Seems silly to have to pay the same amount when buying three or four things, but alas - there is no shipping calculator yet devised by man that will tell you what someone will buy and how much will that add to the cost of shipping. (for example if you buy a postcard and a 20 lb typewriter - I can't ship them both for 44 cents) So until then - I will continue to estimate shipping and refund the remainder when you purchase multiple items.

As far as shipping altogether - I try to come close to actual costs of mailing - but may go over (or in some cases under) If the difference over is $3 or more - it will be refunded. If you notice I undercharged you for shipping - smile and pay it forward to someone else :-)
Shipping is not just the cost of mailing - but can include the cost of bubble wrap, packing tape, boxes, padding, insurance, tracking, etc.

If you have any shipping related issues or would like additional insurance or need something faster - please convo me - preferably before you buy.
Refunds and Exchanges
As far as returns - ideally - I'd love it if all questions that would be deal breakers would be asked before the item ships - saves a big headache later. (condition, size, color, etc) However, if there is an issue with an item and the need arises to return it - please convo me. The shipping will be the responsibility of the buyer (you) and the money paid for the item will be refunded by seller (me)
I want you to be pleased with your purchase - and will do my best to rectify problems should they arise.

In addition - there are no returns on shoes or clothing - please ask all fit related questions before making your purchase. I will be glad to measure to your hearts content and promptly answer any questions you may have. This avoids bitter disappointment later on.

In case of damages - larger items and breakables will always ship insured and well packaged. Should the unthinkable happen - convo me immediately after receipt of the item, preferably with pictures. You will need to file the claim with the post office in case of damage, so please make sure that you hold on to the packaging. The items leave here in the condition they are listed as - and insurance covers both the seller and the buyer, therefore I am not responsible for breakage which may occur during shipping.
Additional policies and FAQs
I will gladly set things aside.
Just ask - and I will be glad to reserve a listing.

I am open to trades!

Also lastly PLEASE use the Etsy convo system to contact me - I will not reply to e-mails sent to the e-mail tied with my paypal account - mostly because I rarely check it.
I have now had several buyers attempt to contact me that way to change the "ship to" information and sadly was not able to accommodate them.
