I have been working with my hands and making things for most of my life. It’s taken me longer than it should have to declare myself an artist. Especially since there were clear signs of it early on. I remember when my sister used to take me to my favorite art store in the town that we lived. My heart used to race at the sight of colored pencils, erasers that came in different colors, pads of papers and pretty much any material that allowed a person to be creative. (Art stores still make my heart race!) I also used to squirrel away found objects and artifacts of nature that inspired me. (This too is still happening)

While I tended to hide my creativity when I was younger, it was undeniable when I decided to go to college. At that point, I took a giant leap and went to a private art school in Savannah, Georgia to develop my skills within the specialty of graphic design. I’ve been a designer ever since.

I started my Etsy store as a way to wind down my wholesale letterpress line of stationery. Magically, seven years have come to pass and now my store is an extension of my craft/trade as a graphic designer. Shifting from cards to posters, I started making posters with inspirational sentiments that incorporate elements of customized typography to reinforce the message.

More recently, I've been working on a series of acrylic paintings integrated with collage to tell stories that are open to interpretation. Regardless of the medium, I love to design and make things for others. It’s not only an extension of self-expression, but also a form of connection with others—through communication, imagery and sentiment.
