Beautifully made and exactly what I needed for my yoga and bodywork studio. This allows me to easily swap my yoga props into a storage/crawl space for a Thai bodywork session, then fold the Thai mat up and roll it away when it's time for yoga. Thank you for the lovely and functional rolling crate!

Our Inspiration...Our Story...Our Now...Our Future...

Looney Bin Trading Company started out of necessity & love and is growing with hope, faith and dreams!

Our Inspiration...
Inspiration came with the birth of our daughter Susan in December 2007. She was born with a congenital heart defect called, Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), which is a serious lifelong medical condition that is life threatening. She will require a heart transplant at some point in her lifetime.

Her struggles and survival over the last eight years has taught us to believe in what cannot be seen. Susan’s life changed our lives in many unexpected ways and gave us the faith and trust we needed to do almost anything including starting a company.

Our Story...
We started Looney Bin Trading Company in our garage as a way to bridge a financial gap between what Mike made at his "day job" and what we needed to pay our family's finances and Susan's medical bills. We used to do these huge garage sales to help raise money then our 4th daughter, Kathryn, came along and it was impossible to do our Fundraising through the garage sales.

We needed to find another way....Looney Bin Trading Co and Etsy was our answer. We started our shop on June 6th 2012 with just 3 items. Quickly we figured out this was more than just a way to bridge a gap.

In April 2013 we made a huge leap of faith...Mike quit his full time job and we moved Looney Bin into a 2200 sq ft warehouse. We worked hard and built the store up to over 100 listing and 300+ sales that first year. With continued growth we found ourselves reaching the milestone of 1000 Etsy sales a little more than 2 years after opening Looney Bin. We celebrated our 3000th Sale in April 2017 and continue to enjoy ourselves.

Our Now...
We are so thankful to our wonderful customers and the support we have received from everyone, including Etsy! It is with great pride that we continue to serve our customers with quality hand crafted furniture and home decor.

We look forward to each day...getting up and doing something you love to do with the people you love is a wonderful thing. It is fun to get an email from a customer with an idea and work with them to bring that idea to life and into their home.

We also like doing our part to recycle, reuse and repurpose materials that are thrown away. Creating beautiful furniture and home decor items from Recycled Shipping Pallet Wood. This reclaimed wood has beautiful character while being Eco Friendly!

Our Future...
Is unknown. But we truly believe that with great customers, hard work, hope, faith and our dreams we can continue to grow our shop.

We offer the general public an option to the mass produced furniture and home décor out there with up-cycled echo friendly material and heirloom quality handcrafted construction.

Your items will never be manufactured, no fulfillment services or drop shipments, but will always be handcrafted by the people you see here...a real Mom and Pop Shop!

Q: What do I do if my order arrives DAMAGED?
A: Please know we do all we can to avoid damages, but carriers are not always as careful as we'd like.

In the event of damages - Always notify us as soon as possible and take good photos of the item, damages, and the outside box damage and send them to us. Based on damages we may request that you send the item back to us for repair so please keep the packing materials. All damages are dealt with on an individual basis. We reserve the option to repair, replace or pay for repairs to be done locally. In some case a refund may be offered upon returning the item. Damages are treated fairly to both parties but are at our discretion.
Our preferred method of payment is PayPal...BUT you can use your Credit or Debit Card to checkout with us directly on PayPal. It's easier than it looks just a few clicks :-)

We also welcome Etsy Direct Checkout!
*Shipping fees are for Continental United States Only; if you are in Alaska or Hawaii please ask for shipping fees prior to purchase. Additional charges will apply to items ordered without obtaining a quote prior to purchase.

~ We do have select items that have FREE SHIPPING; these items are clearly marked and can be seen in the shopping cart. Free Shipping is our standard method as specified here. *Upgraded shipping would be an additional fee if requested.

~ Shipping Charges Include...Postage, Packing Materials, Labor, and Delivery Confirmation for your purchase.

~ We ship via USPS Standard Post (parcel post) as it is cost effective due to weight & oversized packages required by most of our items. We want you to get your items as soon as possible at a reasonable cost.

~Occasionally items will be shipped via UPS or FedEx if it is cost effective to do so.

~ If you want your item(s) faster…Please convo us for a Priority Mail Shipping quote prior to purchase! We are happy to adjust the shipping fees accordingly.

~ We set up our listing so they automatically COMBINE SHIPPING whenever possible.

~ We are always willing to look up shipping costs to YOUR SPECIFIC LOCATION prior to purchase...Just MESSAGE us with your zip code and we will get back to you with a specific shipping quote for your item(s)! It might be lower, but it will not be more!!!

Please Note: Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost.

BUYERS can choose to make shipping arrangements themselves and we will have your item(s) packaged and ready for pick up by your selected company on an agreed to date. Please message us prior to purchase, so we can remove shipping fees for you!!!

Frequently asked questions

Q: Will I get the item in the photo?

A: All our items are Made to Order unless otherwise specified in the listing you are looking to purchase. So you will NOT receive the actual item photographed as it has been built and shipped to one of our customers already.

Q: Will my item have the same distressed features?

A: The natural patina and features in the wood vary widely. No...Your item may not have the same exact features. If you see something that you like about a particular listing bring it to our attention and we will try to choose wood from our stock that has similar features.

Q: What type or species of wood do you use?

A: All our products are built from reclaimed pallet lumber. This means all products will be mixed wood construction. Your items could be made from a mix of Pine, Poplar, Oak, Elm, Beech or others as pallets are made from a wide variety of species.

Q: How long will it take for me to receive my item?

A: Please read the Shipping & Policies section for current processing times. We try to build orders in the order they are received and/or in groups of similar items.

We usually have over 100 open orders at any one time therefore we request the longer processing time. It does not take 6 or 8 weeks to build your item...Your order is in line to be constructed.

You can check your purchase under your Etsy Account. You will be able to see the latest expected ship date. Usually we run about 6 to 8 weeks to construct your item(s) and then shipping takes an average of 6 days but up to 14 days.

Q: Why do you ship USPS Standard Post (AKA Parcel Post)?

A: Due to the weight and size of our items it is the most cost effective shipping method. We are happy to quote faster methods if you so choose, like USPS Priority Mail Service which take 2 to 3 business days.
