This policy explains what personal information Loopy Monster LLC ("we," "us") collects from you as a customer or visitor of our Etsy shop, and how we use it. It applies to everyone who interacts with our shop, regardless of location, and is written to comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for our buyers in the European Union. This policy covers what we do with your data. Etsy, Inc. is a separate data controller for the marketplace platform itself, covering checkout, payments, and account information; see Etsy's own Privacy Policy at etsy.com/legal/privacy for how they handle your data.
When you make a purchase, we receive your name, email address, and any information Etsy shares with us to fulfill and support your order, such as your Etsy username and order details. We do not collect or store payment card information; Etsy processes all payments directly and never shares full card details with us. When you sign up for our free pattern or email list, we collect your email address, and your name if you provide it, through our sign-up form powered by Kit, our email marketing platform. If you're located in the EU, UK, or Switzerland, Kit will show you an additional confirmation step after signing up to record your consent, as required under those regions' data protection laws.
We use your order information to deliver your purchased pattern and provide customer support, based on our contract with you when you place an order. We use your email address to send the free pattern you signed up for and occasional emails about new releases or sales, based on the consent you give when you sign up. We also keep records for tax and accounting purposes as required by law. We never use your order information from Etsy to send marketing emails unless you separately opt in through our Kit sign-up form.
We share your information with two parties. Etsy, Inc. processes your order and payment as the marketplace. Kit, our email service provider, stores and sends emails to our subscriber list on our behalf. Kit is based in the United States and lawfully transfers EU, UK, and Swiss subscriber data under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and its UK and Swiss extensions, and is contractually required to protect your data and use it only to provide their service to us. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
We keep order-related information for as long as needed to meet our tax and legal record-keeping obligations, typically several years. We keep your email address on our list until you unsubscribe, which you can do at any time via the link in every email we send.
If you're in the EU or a jurisdiction with similar protections, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct inaccurate information, request deletion of your information, object to or restrict how we use it, receive your data in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time; for marketing emails, simply unsubscribe. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe we've mishandled your data.
