~~How Lord & Grey Bridal Began~~

My mother, Kathy, and I have always dreamed of opening a wedding shop together. When we had the amazing opportunity to pool our resources and talents to create a bridal and special occasion jewelry and accessory business, we jumped on it.

I design original jewelry and hand sew each veil and fabric headpiece for the shop, and Kathy sews the bridal belts and arranges brooch bouquets. Brian does a little bit of everything, from making items to keeping our administrative details smooth.

Over the course of the last two decades, we've created hundreds of our own original jewelry designs inspired by nature and classic bridal styles. We've edited our collection down to the most popular, timeless pieces that brides have told us they love, time and time again.

I work with two fabulous artisan jewelry companies (one in the Great Lakes region, and one in the Mid-Atlantic region - both local to my Pennsylvania studio location) to help make my jewelry sketches and designs come to life as a high quality, finished product.

The pieces are originally designed by me, crafted by these local companies, and lovingly customized and packaged by me, Brian, or Kathy and shipped out for your enjoyment.

~~My Design Process~~

I (Rebecca) took art courses every summer as a teenager and my mother (Kathy) worked as a seamstress. I picked up on her sewing skills from watching her measure, pin, cut, and hem every day for decades, which has given me the patience to work with delicate, and sometimes tricky, bridal fabrics.

My interests lie in working with custom bridal veils and adding sparkling combs or unique accents to the veils. The two biggest influences in designing jewelry are my hikes on a local mountain (that's where some of my the leaf and vine motifs come from) and vintage eras. Stylistically, I have a soft spot for the Art Deco era, but I do keep up with modern bridal trends, so you're likely to find a little of everything in my shop.

I'm in love with the concept of "something blue" for weddings, so you will see a good many pieces with a blue theme or a single blue accent. Personally, my favorite color is green, so occasionally you might find a few emerald or celadon accents floating around this shop, as well. In all, I find working with jewelry and wedding accessories to be therapeutic, and sparkles in any color or design put a smile on my face.

We're happy to take custom orders and special requests! We are willing to sew ANY comb in the shop to ANY veil in the shop. If you see a style combination of any kind that we don't have listed, just ask and we would be happy to make it for you. Nearly every item in the shop can be customized to your specifications.

If we don't have a certain style of jewelry or veil listed in the shop, please ask and we'll do our best to create it for you. You can also customize your belt ribbons and bouquet wraps. None of our designs are limited to shades of white and cream. We offer the rainbow! Be sure to check in often, our designs are constantly changing!
