About

Hello there! Thank you very much for stopping by. Everything you find in my shop is handmade by myself!

I started making jewelry about five years ago. Working first with beads and string I quickly fell in love with the torch (!) and other heavy tools :-)

Although I still enjoy beading and wire wrapping (have a look at my other shop www.christinec.etsy.com) working with metal remains my main focus. I studied fine arts at a local community college and some techniques are pretty much self taught. The internet is such a great resource filled with tutorials and videos.

Shaping metal with a hammer (forging) is an ancient component of smithing. Quite amazing how these ancient techniques are still being used today. There is something calming about striking metal and getting lost in your thoughts. Well almost - thanks to my studio helper Rosie who brings over a stuffed toy and demands playtime quite often.

I appreciate you being interested in my jewelry. It makes it all worthwhile :-)

Frequently asked questions

Custom and personalized orders

What is a custom order? It is anything that I make to your specifications, including rings created in your exact ring size, items created specifically for you at your request, or any item that I altered to your specifications, including metal changes, chain lengths, bracelet lengths, etc. These items cannot be returned for a refund or exchange.

Sizing details

Please note that I do recommend to order all rings with a width of more than 10mm about 1/2 size larger than your regular ring size.

All other rings can be ordered in your regular size.

Care instructions

Please note that gold or gold filled items should not be exposed to chlorine (that includes pools, hot tubs, and bleach). Chlorine attacks gold and causes deterioration.

Store your clean and dry jewelry in plastic bags to keep it protected from the air. I recommend to remove jewelry before swimming and showering. Should your jewelry tarnish over time it can be easily cleaned with an old toothbrush and baking soda toothpaste.

Copper rings may turn fingers green which is due to an oxidation process. It is nothing to worry about and I do recommend to keep your fingers dry. It is also possible to add a coat of clear nail polish to the inside of the ring to create a barrier between your skin and the ring.
