Love the rings Lorinda. Beautiful quality and I can't wait until our next cigar party.
I could make that!
I've always made stuff. I think I get that from my Dad. He made a helicopter in the garage. There didn't seem to be anything he couldn't make.
I've always loved making things. A fountain for the yard, quilts, stained glass.
Making jewelry for me started when I saw some beautiful jewelry in a popular department store. I loved the way it looked, but the prices were too high for me. I looked at the way the pieces were constructed and thought, 'I can make that!'
A few tools and materials later an obsession was born. I've been making jewelry ever since.
A few years ago, thanks to a wonderful bead shop, Brea Bead Works, I added new techniques to my list of skills and started branching out and selling my work on Etsy.
Recently I've started working with coins from all over the world. I've always been interested in foreign currency and whenever I've been lucky enough to travel I brought some coins home from the places I've been.
Coins can be wonderful little pieces of art. I've really come to appreciate them. They're a perfect size to make in to pendants or charms and I love researching their history.
I buy the coins in lots and I never know what I'm going to get. I love going through them and looking at them and deciding which ones I'm going to use. There are always some surprises.
It's interesting to see the different designs for different countries. Some countries have beautiful and interesting designs, and some have political leaders.

My name is Lorinda. I live in Southern California and I make stuff. I can't help it. A fountain for the yard, quilts, stained glass. If I can make it myself, I will. I got the creative drive from my Dad and my persistence from my Mom
