My grandmother, who crochets, was always giving me beautiful books filled with sewing, crochet, or knitting patterns. I would flip through them for hours picturing myself making something so beautiful, so I asked my granny to teach me to crochet. It all felt wrong and I just couldn't get the hang of it. So for my birthday in 2010, I bought my self a black and white book from Michael's that claimed to be able to teach me how to knit, and I've never looked back!

Knit Cozy started with my passion for all things cozy. Books, fireplaces, hand-made blankets, hot beverages and delicious baked goods were the absolute definition of "cozy" to me. So when I thought about opening a shop on Etsy, I knew I had to incorporate that some how, and I knew my love of knitting had to take center stage. So with some inspiration and advice from a fabulous Indy Dyer in Illinois, I started dying yarn based on all the cozy things I love.

When you look through my shop I want you to picture yourself wrapped up in your favorite blanket or shawl with a big cup of steaming coffee and big piece of carrot cake on the table next to you. I want you to imagine yourself with a stack of your favorite books, and your favorite pair of needles, and the softest, most beautiful yarn running through your fingers as you work on that pattern you love because that is what I imagine when I'm putting together colors and stitches and love for the items in my shop. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do!
