Gave myself a challenge and discovered a passion
Back in 2010, I was working at an insurance company not really loving what I was doing but it was a job. One Friday afternoon I gave myself a challenge to make myself a purse... it can't be that hard right?! I went out and bought my fabric and all the supplies (mind you I have been sewing for a while on and off and had my own machine so this wasn't completely random). I wanted to do it more, but work was so long that when I got home, I was exhausted. Not too long after the company was sold and we were being relocated (further away - I was already an hour away with out traffic each way!!)
I decided I need to find something else. I wanted to start my own business highlighting my creativity. I quit the job and ventured out.... 6 months later, I panicked and got myself another office job - in solar. I was there for about a year and a half and I started to really hate things about the job. I was trying to do purses and accessories on the side but I seemed to never have time. I would leave at 7:15am and not get home until 6:15pm and I was exhausted from the crazy day! One day the stress got to me - I quit (it was a bit more dramatic than I would like to admit but I needed to put my foot down) So I said to myself, it is now or never!!
November 2012 - I officially started my business, I wasn't going to let fear hold me back. I have learned so much from business to sewing techniques that I can't stop now! I am loving what I am doing!
I appreciate the challenge I gave myself in 2010 and so happy it turned into something amazing! I couldn't do it without all the love and support from all my friends, family and my amazing husband, they never stopped believing in me!
