Wow! I've cloth diapered three children -- about to make that four -- and these wipes are the best I've used! So thick and soft, perfect for the wipes warmer, and the best selection of prints. The nursing pads look great too. Very, very happy with this purchase.

The beginnings of Lover Of Life Designs....

I have always loved to do things that were creative and practical. During high school I had many art classes, and my first sewing class. My first project was a pair of sleep pants. (I still have them!) I went on to make a skirt, and then my final project was my prom dress. After graduating high school, I continued with my skills from that class, and really got into making clothing, bags, etc. I made jewelry for a while, but didn't really feel that is what I wanted to do. I always enjoyed sewing.... Making things with a pattern is nice, but it's really fun to make something up from scratch, all by yourself. It's like a puzzle.

I got married (made my wedding dress out of linen--one of my favorite materials), and knew that once I became a mom, I wanted to stay at home with the children, be a homekeeper, and eventually homeschool. A friend at work had told me about Etsy right before I had my first baby. I was nervous to do something like this, and tucked it into the back of my mind.

I started a typing job soon after my first child was born. I was able to stay at home, and type at night, and commute only to drop off work. After a couple years, and another baby, I longed to be able to do more with my sewing, and not just typing. I liked typing, but it wasn't the same as sewing!

I remembered what my friend said about Etsy. I looked it up. I started the business officially, just for fun. I posted a couple things, thinking that I would be LUCKY if something sold. The same day, I got my first sale! I didn't even realize at first that it had actually happened! I listed more items, and they sold!

This was starting to be fun! :) I continued to make more items, but I really found my niche when I started making cloth wipes. Business soared after that!

I cloth diapered both of my girls, but I used disposable wipes. With the second baby, I decided to give it another go, I mean, what is the purpose to continue to purchase the wipes, just to throw them away, when I already made the leap into cloth diapers??!!

It was an EASY transition. Once I made this choice, everything else just started to make sense to me. Reusable cloth nursing pads, tissues, family cloth, paper towels, napkins--what an opportunity to be more economical AND earth friendly!! I rarely have to lug a package of toilet paper or paper towels. I just walk past that aisle! I LOVE that!!

So, I make flannel wipes so that I can help others do the same.

I make bibs from 100% upcycled materials, that are so absorbant, that I can't hardly stand to use anything else. They are soft because of the upcycled tshirt material that is used as the binding, so no scratchy necklines! They are large enough to catch the spills. And they are cute enough to catch people's eye! I get so many compliments when we venture out for a meal (which isn't all that often), when my girls wear my bibs!

I also started making Art Smocks for little kiddos. These are so fun for those first fingerpaintings and other art projects. I'm personally kind of persnickety, when it comes to the kids not making big messes. So, ANYTHING that I can do to tone down the messiness, is a PLUS! Messes happen, but they don't have to be all over their clothes!

And for the Mamas, I make cloth nursing pads. These again use upcycled materials to act as the absorbing middle layer, and new outer materials that are soft and durable, and help you stay dry longer. Nursing can be tough at times. With my first child, I wept over the fact that I leaked ALL the time! It was a never ending battle with a wet bra, wet shirt, and wet sheets. ugh! I made up several versions of my nursing pads, and tried them out with baby 2. Hallelujah! I found something that worked!! AND no more trips out in a panic because I was out of disposable nursing pads!

Occasionally I venture out and list other items that either I'm trying out, or something I just felt like making. I have to say, I love Etsy for that. It's fun to be able to try something new, just to see if it sells.

I enjoy the creativity that sewing allows me.
I love to find ways to be more economical.
I love to stay home with my kids.
I love bringing in a supplemental income.
I love to make items that can help others.

This is my story.

Orders are wrapped in 100% recycled tissue paper & shipping paper. When your order is shipped using Priority Mail, I sometimes use their shipping supplies.

Special "Made to Order" listings, and Custom Orders have a typical processing time of 1 week to create, and then are shipped according to the guidelines below. (This applies to any part of your order that is "made to order" as they all ship together.)

Orders that will require more time than stated, will be contacted through a convo on Etsy.

I like to ship orders as quickly as I can, and if there is a problem regarding the shipping address, or any other specifics about the order, I will contact through a convo on Etsy. If there is no response, and the order must have additional info in order to ship, I might have to cancel the order.

If the address that you provide for shipping is incorrect and the order has already been shipped, you are responsible for the full amount of the order plus the shipping charge. If it is possible to correct the wrong address before shipping out, I will make that change for you.

Any Package under 13oz will ship using USPS First Class Mail.
Any Package over 13oz will ship using USPS Priority Mail.

Any Package under 4lbs will ship using First Class International Mail.
Any Package over 4lbs will ship using Priority International Mail.
IMPORTANT NOTE: International buyers are responsible for any and all Customs Charges, Taxes & Additional Postal Fees
If you refuse to accept your package because of duties or taxes, you are not eligible for a refund.

See the "Lost Packages" section for more info on international orders.

Orders ship using USPS. You will receive an email when I mark your order as shipped, which will contain your tracking number or customs number (international).

While packages generally arrive MUCH sooner, I allow the post office up to 2 weeks for Domestic delivery & up to 6-8 weeks for International delivery before resending/refunding for non delivery.

Thank you for your understanding!

Please remember that shipping around any holiday can be very unpredictable and Priority Upgrades are recommended to ensure faster delivery times!

I use USPS exclusively for shipping. You will receive an email when we mark your order as shipped, which will contain your tracking number or customs number (international).

If you believe your order is lost, we request you do a couple things. First, check the tracking number on your order. You can also find this on your receipt page.

I am carrying insurance now on almost all international orders, and can not file a claim on these before 45-60 days after the package was originally shipped. Because of this, I request that all orders that are being sent overseas be super patient, because items can get stuck in customs for a ridiculous amount of time, and this is why the insurance claim can not be filed sooner. If after the maximum of 60 days, and you have still not received your order--you have up to 30 more days to contact me for a refund or to have the items shipped again. Please don't hesitate at all to contact me if you do not receive your order!

Then I ask that you talk with anyone who resides with you, as well as any next door neighbors the package may have been left with (or your main office if you are in an apartment complex). Please check with your mail carrier & your local Post Office. Make sure you have the tracking number ready for them.

Sometimes things ship for less than I expect, if when ordering multiple items, the shipping cost seems a little wonky, you can check with me if it can ship for less (the total weight of your package will determine the cost). Thanks!
Refunds and Exchanges
If there is a cancellation after the piece(s) has been shipped, you will be responsible for paying for the order and shipping, and then for the return shipping. I can only refund money back if the item is in the same condition that I sent it out. You must contact me back first before sending anything back. Please take care in packaging item(s) safely before returning to ensure that they are in refundable condition! Thanks!

If there is a exchange that needs to be done and I haven't packaged or shipped it yet, I would be happy to make the exchange for you. Otherwise, the above notes will apply for returns.
Additional policies and FAQs
If your item is made with cotton laminate (such as with the art smocks) EXTRA care should be taken while wearing in the kitchen--DO NOT wear near burners, or ovens, as it could cause it to melt, and injury could result.

Solid colored flannel has the potential to have dye leak from it over the first initial washings--it's always a good idea to wash like colors together (just like your regular laundry) to avoid darker dye transferring to light colored items in the wash. Please note that using a wipes warmer, or keeping your wipes wet for periods of time can also cause your solid colored wipes to leak dye, if this is a concern, you should keep them dry until ready to use.
