5 out of 5 starsit is very helpful into a world, where my eyes see so much upsetting things that it happend that I got used to it... but my eyes are still shocked. So I know I wanna take back control in what I watch, because I wanna get out of the shock-state I am in right now.

5 out of 5 starsThis indigo whale is nicely stiched with stars and small fish. It is so hard to find a toy that is plant dyed. i am glad that I found this whale. It will be the birthday present for my son, who is turning 2 years in a couple of days.

5 out of 5 starsCharly is very skilled when it comes to dying with indigo. the colours that she creates with care are vibrant and relax the eyes in a very unique way. I have already ordered a relax eye pillow to give my eyes more relaxation.

Textile Artist
I started knitting during my university lectures and learnt through videos on Youtube. Since then knitting has become a daily part of my life.
My love with textiles grew and up until the beginning of 2018 I was a self taught maker. At this point I decided to embark on the L1 Creative Crafts Textiles course through Cornwall Adult Education. I am currently studing a year long L2 course in textiles since September 2019.
My passion is to find unloved fabrics and threads at car boot sales and in charity shops. I then dismantle them if necessary, dye with plant materials I find in the local woods, park or from plants I have grown myself from seed. Occasionally I will use dye extracts if they are dyes harder to find or grow. I am an environmentally conscious vegan and avoid any dyes which may be sourced from animals or the heartwood of trees overseas.
I love to turn my hand dyed fabrics into bags and purses.
I adore hand dyeing unbleached, organic cotton rope and sewing it into coiled baskets and turning wood beads into necklaces.
More than anything I love to sketch ideas (usually inspired by my daughter and beautiful childrens illustrations we read together and the natural environment around me) and have fallen in love with stitching these designs onto cloth using free motion embroidery. I use these pieces for bags/purses/reusuable notebooks and brooches. I love to combine both hand and machine embroidery in one piece.
My aim is to create with reclaimed materials wherever possible and create products which will be loved and utilised for many years to come, hopefully passing from one generation to the next. They will be created with love for nature, humans and animals alike.
Welcome here to my creative space in the world - thank you for joining me!
