I was born in Montreal, Canada, in May 1967. After spending 28 years living in the United States, I moved back to Canada in 2020. I have been making a living as a professional artist since 1993.
As a child, as soon as I was able to hold a pencil, I spent a good amount of my time drawing.
I expressed my first serious interest in art when I was seven years old. When I was 14 years old I studied at Mission: Renaissance School in Montreal, Canada. I took courses that taught me traditional fine art skills, including an in-depth study of the masters: Rembrandt, Monet, Manet, Cézanne, Fantin Latour, and others.
Since many of us have a very busy and often stressful life, it is important for me to bring the calming and rejuvenating effect of nature into people’s lives through my artwork.
Many of my works can be found in corporations and private collections around the globe, including England, France, Russia, Germany, Japan, Australia, United States and Canada.
I truly hope that, in some way, my artwork contributes to the world I envision. I stand for a world without wars. A world where honest people can prosper and flourish. Where we care, love and respect each other, as well as the other life forms on this planet.
I want us to live in harmony with nature.
MY INSPIRATIONS:
I grew up with different animals as pets and a big wild field as my playground. Both of these contributed to the strong affinity I have for nature. Nature’s beauty is an endless source of inspiration for the creation of my artwork.
Things that ignite my creativity have ranged from my trips to Montana, my photo safari in Africa, my visits to zoos, butterfly farms, and the times I spend with my cat, and even flowers and wildlife in my backyard. To transport the viewers to peaceful places, New England and parts of my native Canada are often inspirations for my landscape and seascape paintings. My fantasy and spiritual paintings come from my imagination and the beauty of my models, which are often relatives and friends.
