Très jolies épingles! L'envoi n'est pas immédiat mais cela vaut le coup d'attendre un tout petit peu ;-)

About

A tale

Once upon a time a little girl was crying and as her tears fell they turned to precious stones.
Once upon a time another little girl was enthralled by this tale and went in search of more.

After art studies and drawing landscapes with ink and charcoal, then a period of sewing, whilst all the time reading stories written by others, I've finally decided to write my own stories through the creation of jewelry pieces.

I live in a wonderful area where I can walk everyday on the seashore… and where a chance find of a sea urchin becomes an earring made of aluminum and beads.
I love these movements between the outside world as I see it and the transformation of materials. I work on this metamorphosis in my studio, which is also my reading cabinet. Aluminum, copper, beads, vintage jewelry, ceramic, glass… All these objects gathered through my wanderings become forms and textures that are telling me stories. It is as if a link exists between past and present, between craftsmanship and the story of an era, reach out to me through these collected materials. It's always highly emotional.

Salvaged treasures bring interesting challenges : they are used, tumbled by the sea, painted, rusted, scratched, they wear traces from their previous lives. I am fascinated by this transformation, this alchemy. Just as I was fascinated, back when I was a child, by salty tears magically transformed into precious stones.
I love to play with contrasts, hammered metal combined with a delicate bead, raw metal with a lace appliqué. My inspirations are mixed and unlimited, Art Nouveau, modern sculpture, mediterranean jewelry, cabinets de curiosités, mineral and botanical universes… I also remember family stories of lost treasures from my maternal great-grand-mother, and I imagined trunks of embroideries, laces and others marvels. Fashion magazines from the 1900s are all I'm left with and I still love browsing them. From my paternal grand-mother, I've inherited another lost treasure, my Spanish origins which partially resurfaced during a tour of Spain in 2005. Since then, I feel the call of this heritage has it seeps into my work from time to time. Finally I love the period from the Victorian era to the Roaring Twenties, I love the floral patterns, the use of mother of pearl and jet, this womanhood from another time.

When I design a piece, it is a world in itself.
Each jewelry piece has its own identity, so it can't be replicated. That's why I make one-of-a-kind pieces, even though I sometimes make some limited series, each piece is unique, because it has its own story.
Once upon a time, a pottery shard was left out by the sea and became a part of a necklace worn by a very pretty woman. She was told she was wearing art…

Please be certain of your ring size as I do not resize rings. I recommend getting your finger sized at a professional and reputable jewelers.

Care instructions

To sustain the look of your jewelry it is best :
– not to wear them while sleeping, bathing, practising any sport…
– to avoid contact with any chemicals (perfume, soap, hair spray, cream…),
– to keep your jewelry out of humidity,
– to keep your jewelry out of prolonged heat.

Gift wrapping and packaging

All my jewelry pieces are packaged in a cotton-filled jewelry box - they are "gift-ready" for yourself or a loved one. For earrings, 2 tiny silicon nuts are provided to wear them safely.

Any special requests for shipping and/or packaging are welcome, please contact before ordering and we can discuss the best way to handle the issue.

Is Lucie Tales' jewelry nickel free?

Lucie Tales'Jewelry is made of silver (950 or 925) or fine silver, copper or brass without any lead or nickel.

When I use vintage or found componants, I specify which metal they're made of except when I don't know, then I mention "unknown composition".

Earwires are made of silver or hypoallergenic metals such as niobium or titanium.

Can I order something already sold or ask for cutom or commissionned work?

Each piece is handmade by me in my studio. As I work with vintage or found parts, I often can’t replicate a design.
But sometimes I can, so ask away, I'll answer you!

Contact me about any custom order, my answer will depends on my schedule.
