Tengo una formación diversificada que finalmente me ha llevado a encontrar mi verdadera vocación: trabajar con arcilla metálica. Con una licenciatura en Educación, una Maestría en Negocios y una licenciatura en Diseño de Interiores, siempre he disfrutado aprendiendo cosas nuevas. Sigo esforzándome por aprender diferentes técnicas de fabricación de joyas para incorporar en mis diseños. La combinación de diferentes técnicas le da a mi trabajo una perspectiva en constante cambio.
Las colecciones de diseño de Lucy Ellen están inspiradas en diferentes lugares que me encantan. Me gusta viajar y estar casada con un neozelandés me ha dado la oportunidad de explorar muchos países. Dondequiera que hayamos viajado, me atrae la arquitectura y los colores del país. Trato de incorporar estas impresiones en mis joyas.
En 2013 me mudé al área de San Diego desde el norte de California para estar más cerca de mis padres ancianos. Esto ha sido un ajuste al tratar de remodelar nuestro nuevo hogar y cuidar a los padres enfermos. La familia es lo primero, así que mis esfuerzos creativos han quedado en suspenso. Realmente he extrañado pasar tiempo en mi estudio y dar clases. Poner en marcha mi tienda de Etsy es el primer paso para volver al mundo que amo. All pieces in the Lucy Ellen Design line are designed and produced by me, Lucy Romijn. I have a diversified background that has finally led me to finding my true calling – working with metal clay. With an undergraduate degree in Education, a Masters in Business and an Interior Design degree I have always enjoyed learning new things. I continue to push myself to learn different jewelry making techniques to incorporate into my designs. Combining different techniques together gives my work an ever-changing perspective.
The Lucy Ellen Design Collections are all inspired by different locations I love. I enjoy traveling and being married to a New Zealander has giving me the opportunity to explore many countries. Wherever we have traveled I’m drawn to the architecture and colors of the country. I try and incorporate these impressions into my jewelry.
In 2013 I moved to the San Diego area from Northern California to be closer to my elderly parents. This has been an adjustment with trying to get our new home remodeled and take care of ailing parents. Family comes first so my creative endeavors have been put on hold. I have really missed spending time in my studio and teaching classes. Getting my Etsy Shop up and running is the first step into returning to the world I love. I will be adding lots of jewelry to my shop in the near future. Even though I haven’t been designing many pieces lately I have lots of wonderful ideas waiting to come to life.
