Welcome to LumenandHue---I hope shopping here will be a rewarding experience. If you have questions, please email me and I will be happy to help.

You will find a continuously varying array of 2D and 3D glass gifts, some created from a puff of an idea and others designed around rescued items I couldn't resist and recycled into a new life. Most pieces are fabricated using brass, copper and zinc "came"---the strips of metal edging--- for a clean and decorative line. I hand-finish, patina and polish them to be to be visually appealing and functional.

The wind chimes speak in lovely ringing tones, and don't need to hang around outside waiting for you. They're also good inside wherever they can catch a breeze (over a heater vent?) or decorate your empty ceiling with their distinct personality. They're lovely on the patio too, but should be rescued from the stronger winds. I smooth all bare glass edges with a small bevel to remove any sharpness, so they are completely safe to handle.

The boxes are elegant variations on the functional storage theme. Their rich variety of colors, textures and shapes make strong statements or evoke subtle emotions. I build them with metal banding around the edges for structural precision and clean lines and modify their color with patinas. Since the joints are soldered with lead/tin solder, they're not recommended for storing food items.

The engravings are a special category of "etching" and are created by pressing the glass against a spinning sandstone wheel. The shape of the wheel edge determines the shape of the impression left on the glass. Most of the designs (the "named" ones) have been passed down through generations of engravers and are traditionally done on clear glass so as to be most visible. Beveled clear glass diamonds and ovals are used commonly. They are best displayed with the engraving on the back side, so you are looking through the glass at the indented design. Since each one is done by hand, no two are exactly alike (no matter how hard I try!), and some incorporate sandblasted parts. I also have a habit of making up new designs, with no names at all, and putting them on free-form pieces of glass.

The other sections are the unpredictable stuff, and where the dragonflies stand around....wonder what they're staring at?

If restoring it's original condition is not possible, I will refund your entire payment. Since everything is a unique creation, there are no exchanges for other items, different colors, etc. Hopefully it's not damaged to that degree, and you will have your one-of-a-kind creation for years to come.
