Summer prints have arrived and new ones are coming in!!! Luna Bugs Designs loves to keep things fresh--so you will notice that prints change often. With that said, if you are looking for a print you can no longer find on the site, just message me. I may still have the fabric or maybe can get it. I sometimes have to retire prints entirely because the fabric is no longer available. But other times I just take some off to give them a rest and put some fresh ones up. And if you are looking for something in particular that I don't have, let me know. I love a challenge to find it :)


***Elevated Dishes: Not complaining here, but I can't keep up with the dishes. I have sold almost all the new ones I made and have just added more. Please remember they are pretty much one of a kind. Once they sell out, I will most likely never be able to replicate them.

I've added a new section--25% Clearance for Samples and Discontinued items. I will be adding some collars and a dish or two soon! These will be already made collars, used for samples. They are mostly regular cat size--occasionally an Ex Lg or a Kitten may be added. There are no choices on buckles colors or hardware, but they will be discounted. The dishes are 8 in dishes and usually 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 in high. I will no longer be offering 8 in dishes unless it's by request.

A little FYI on check out. Etsy doesn't always calculate shipping correctly on combined items. I will ALWAYS refund you after I calculate it correctly.

***ABOUT LUNA BUGS DESIGNS SOFT COLLARS ? ***
My collars are very lightweight and soft on purpose which is why I call them soft collars. If you are looking for the weight of most other cat collars, you won't find it with Luna Bugs collars. This is to keep them from irritating and bothering your cat. Most cats and kittens adjust to them quickly and forget they're there. Also, it helps to keep them from losing fur around their necks or getting sores from the friction of a heavier collar. My collars are made from cotton fabric and lightweight fusion to give it stability and shape. They will never get fuzzy!
I use lightweight to medium weight fabric. Never heavy nylon like many collars are made of.
We, as humans may like the weight of a heavier collar in our hands, but cats are not so thrilled with that extra weight around their necks!

Most of the prints and fabrics I use will not be found on other cat collars. And if by chance you do find a collar with the same print, it will not be the same Luna Bugs Designs soft collar!
YOU custom design your collar, your way! Start with a basic collar-- Choose from the many beautiful prints, add the buckle color of your choice, add Gold or Silver hardware. Bell or No Bell. Stop there or add-on a Bow, Charm and/or a matching colored Enamel Bell*** And if you'd like a fabric print I don't offer, message me and we can work it out. I do custom orders--if it is doable, I'm up for the challenge!

All Luna Bugs Designs collars are *only* made with safety breakaway buckles. They may look like a regular buckle, but these are higher quality than most breakaway buckles and require a bit more tug to break apart. Not as easy to get lost but will definitely break apart in the event of an emergency.

**A little info on the Kitten Collars.
Kitten collars are slightly narrower than adult cat ones--but you can get the same color buckle options as the adult ones. (You can have the option of making them wider (1/2 inch) like the cat collars--just let me know.

How many fingers should fit under a cat collar?
Collars do actually need to be quite firmly fitted – you should only be able to get 1-2 fingers underneath. If too loose then the cat can gets its leg through. When you first fit the collar your cat may tense its neck muscles so always re-check the fit after a few minutes and adjust if necessary. Always remember to check and adjust your kitten's collar every few days--they grow fast!!!

Adult Cat and Ex Lg Adult Cat--1/2 in wide
Reg Kitten--7/16 in wide

All collars are 1/2 wide except the Kitten
Adult/Cat adjustable--approximately 8-11 in
Ex-Large Adult/Cat--adjustable--approximately 10-13 inches

SAFETY INFO:
***WHY BREAKAWAY/QUICK RELEASE BUCKLES ARE IMPORTANT FOR CATS***

For many cat owners, you're probably already aware of the reasons for breakaway or also known as, quick release buckles. I realized recently that not everyone does know why they are important--even for inside only cats. Cats, unlike dogs, can climb and get into spaces where a collar might get caught--especially if they go outside. If not for a quick release buckle, the cat could panic and sadly it could be fatal or at the very least cause serious injury. If the collar is too loose a cat has been known to get a leg caught in it or their bottom jaw--again, without quick release, it could be tragic. So I only offer breakaway buckles even though I have been asked to put a traditional buckle from time to time. I personally won't do it. I know many shops on Etsy that do offer non-breakaway on cat collars. Luna Bugs Designs does not and will never put an animal in danger by doing so.
With that said, due to the fact the buckles do release, some cats are better than others at getting their collars off. This is in no way a sign the buckle is defective. On the contrary--it means they are doing what they are supposed to do. The buckles I use are in my opinion, stronger than most. But no breakaway buckle is going to stay put if your cats are playing and one pulls on the other one's collar--as mine often do. Or if your cat gets caught on something and you didn't see it happen but you find the collar laying on the floor somewhere--it means it did it's job. Sadly, the downside is collars do get lost--but in my opinion--better a collar than our beloved purr-babies.

SOME QUESTIONS CAT OWNERS ASK:
Should I put a collar on my indoor cat?
Even indoor-only cats should wear collars, because if your cat does get out, a well-meaning person may think your cat is a stray and take her to an animal shelter. With an ID collar, your cat has a better chance of safely and quickly getting back home

Do bells on collars damage cats hearing?
Effectiveness aside, many pet parents worry that a bell will hurt their cat's ears. According to Veterinary PhD student Rachel Malakani, a collar bell will produce sound at about 50-60 dB, but studies have shown cats to be unaffected by sounds under 80 dB

****I would like to add that the bells I use are very quiet. But in the event your cat gets outside or stuck/locked somewhere, you could probably hear the soft jingle of the bell to help locate them. And if they happen to get out and go after birds and wildlife, it would give them a fighting chance to get away from the cat.
With that said, you will always have the option of bell or no bell on any collar you buy. And should you get a bell and not like it, it can easily be removed from the split ring on the collar.

My Personal GUARANTEE! I stand by all my cat collars with a 6 month guarantee against workmanship. Should an issue with workmanship arise within 6 months of purchase, I will replace with a new collar. Workmanship would be if something comes apart or the buckle breaks. It does not include loss, normal wear or damage done by the pet. **

I usually ship within 1-2 business days. You will *99.9% of the time get your purchase much sooner than It says on check-out--IF the Post Office does their part!
