Announcement   For those of you interested in Conflict Free Diamonds, I can get Canadian earth mined Diamonds. As an alternative, I can get Cubic Zirconia or Moissanite gemstones. Other alternatives include white topaz, white sapphire, or Zircon (a naturally occurring gemstone).

Using only the very best of conflict free and recycled materials that are available, I create lustrous, luxurious pearl and gemstone jewelry to last a lifetime - and beyond! I strive to create objects that are as individual as each person who might enjoy them.

Custom jewelry design is available upon request.

Most of my designs can be ordered in various colors of gold if you desire. The silvers that I use are reclaimed and come in Sterling, Sterlium Plus, Argentium or Continuum grades. Please feel free to inquire about any design you are interested in to see if I can make it in the metal and color of your choice.

Pricing is reflective of the quality of my designs.

Pearls are unique by their very nature as organic gemstones. I hunt the best quality pearls available from all over the world. I do not use glass, plastic, shell or other factory made pearls. All my Pearls were made by an actual oyster or mussel bivalve. Some are grown in salt water oceans, some in freshwater lakes or streams.

Most of my gemstones are responsibly and conflict free earth mined or reclaimed from other pieces of jewelry. I use the best quality man made CZs or Moissanite gemstones in lieu of diamonds in most cases. I do have a source for conflict free diamonds. If you want diamonds, I can get them for you in white or various colors.

The ring sizing, casting and all that stuff that I am not zoned for where I live, or that would give my insurance agent the heavie geavies, is done at Jewel-Craft in Erlanger, KY by Mike and Angie. They see to it that everything is done exactly to my specifications.

I usually have two assistants at any given time. They are always both University of Kentucky students. This semester I have 4 assistants. They come from many diverse backgrounds. Trey Cardwell (just starting grad school in public health) is doing all the photography. He will be assisted this semester by MacKenzie Yeiser (undergrad in architecture) and Ashley Rhinehart (junior majoring in Art Administration and Graphic Design). Mary Adams has joined the team as bookkeeper and sometime model.

Thank you for looking! Enjoy LusterWear!

These earrings are just lovely. Perfect size, gorgeous color and setting. Carolyn and her staff made it so easy to get exactly what I wanted and they arrived just before my birthday. Happy birthday to me!

About

From the deep woods to the world

LusterWear started from the desire to publish my work to a wider audience. Originally intended to showcase and feature my paintings and pottery, I decided to include my jewelry designs as well. During my search for a viable platform I came across Etsy.
I liked the idea of a community of makers all accessible in one place.

Having lived in Kentucky, California, Minnesota, New York, South Carolina, Delaware, and Texas my influences are diverse domestically, and internationally varied do to my extended family.

I named my studio Laudable Mud Studio which originated from my realization that everything beautiful, fascinating, and useful is associated with mud: pigments, gemstones, pearls, and all plant life without which I would be able to make next to nothing.

I source my material from all over the world. Pearls, pigments, mixed media elements, or clay, all are international in origin by necessity. We live in a connected and interconnected world and I have always emphasized that in my work.
