Luthieros is a craftsman that loves to take natural materials and give them a new reason for existence: making them able to produce sound, music, to help people explore their creativity and provoke strong emotions.
Luthieros handcrafts ancient musical instruments such as lyres, kithara, pandura, etc., along with ancient percussions, and modern Greek instruments (such as bouzouki, tzouras, and baglamas). Moreover, Luthieros loves to share his art with amateur luthiers around the world, to play music, to sing, to create, to have fun, to offer...
Luthieros workshop is based near ancient Europos, a town initially originated during the time of Alexander the Great, and its inhabitants were the first who were called Europeans (it is true!).
But most of all, Luthieros is the Koumartzis familia, a family full of musicians, designers, craftsmen, and craftswomen.

5 out of 5 starsWhat an incredible deal for all of these lyre extras you will need! Everything was shipped perfectly and is beautiful and completes what I need. The only other thing I will have to re-purchase will be the strings (happily!). I cannot write a high enough review for this company and it's products - they are beyond professional, and these extras are perfect for the lyre I purchased. You can never go wrong with this company or their products! They are the best of the best!

5 out of 5 starsI cannot tell you how satisfied I am with every part of this purchase! These folks are wonderful and their instruments are as well! This lyre is absolutely gorgeous and is already a treasure in my life. It is expertly and beautifully hand-crafted, and I would say it is without peer. The selection of woods, the fauna skin, and the sugar cane strings are all absolutely perfect! I could not be more thrilled to have gone through this entire process with this company. This has been a dream for a long time, and after 2 years of research, I know I absolutely made the best choice that's available. I humbly thank this company for allowing me to own an instrument that is so sublime, and the sound is beyond compare. I could rave on and on for days about this entire experience! I wouldn't recommend buying a lyre from anyone else!

5 out of 5 starsIf you purchase one of the fantastic lyres from this company, you should absolutely purchase the case also. These lyres need the right case, and no one knows better how to build one than these folks. It is superb and I love it!

5 out of 5 starsLutherios - I absolutely cannot thank you enough for crafting this BEAUTIFUL instrument. The quality and sound are top-tier - you can tell that they put a lot of expertise, love, and care into their work. This instrument is everything I could’ve hoped for and then some! I’m a musician with no previous experience in string instruments, and with practice I find myself learning how to play the lyre rather quickly thanks to how accessible this instrument is. I strongly recommend Lutherios to anyone also interested in learning. I ordered a case as well and it’s a work of art in itself - really excellent quality!! Customer service and shipping were also superb. It arrived quickly and without any issue. I love my lyre my so much, thank you Lutherios!!! ❤️

5 out of 5 starsIf you want a high-quality lyre that you will look forward to playing and not ever be frustrated with, get a lyre from Lutherios. The build quality is superb. The sound is outstanding. I love the sugar cane strings; they are so much more lively and rich as compared to the nylon strings on my 5 octave Celtic harp. Communication with the seller is excellent - they respond quickly and will take care of any problems that might arise. I was nervous about purchasing an instrument without having played it in person, let alone from a luthier outside the United State, but my fear was completely unfounded. I adore my 13 string lyre of Apollo and I'm thrilled to be able to play this beauty without pain, which is why I've had to leave off playing the harp. If you've ever wanted to learn to play the Greek lyre, this is the place to get one!

Koumartzis familia is a musician's family, nurtured to respect and promote the musical heritage of Greece (both ancient and modern). With many professionals and amateur musicians among their members, we have decided to focus on producting top-quality musical instruments from our tradition and re-introducing them to the global market.
With R&D projects such as "The Lyre 2.0 Project" (check here: http://vimeo.com/85653759), we have managed to produce and make available top-quality stringed instruments and drums, which can be used by both a wanna-be and a professional musician.
We use almost exclusively natural materials such as wood (maple, ebony etc.), glues, animal bones and leather etc. to handcraft our instruments. Our workshop has been set up near Ancient Europos (Greece), where our ancestors were used to live and evolve in a full cultural environment. It is not an exaggeration when we say that the first ever humans that were called Europeans, were the ancient citizens of Europos. This unique heritage is crystal clear in our music instrument product line.
The "heart" of Luthieros Musical Instruments is the father of the family, Anastasios, an amateur musician (for more than 40 years), a best-selling author of how-to instrument making guides in Greek and a luthier (musical instrument handcrafter) for the last 10 years.
Along with his three sons and his wife, Eleni, have managed to create a product line of top quality musical instruments such as Ancient Greek Lyres, Ancient Egyptian Drums (Bendir), modern Greco-Turkish stringed instruments (Bouzouki, Baglamas, Tzouras) etc.
With a lot of handcrafting work and a shophisticated mechanised manufacturing method, we are able to produce beatifully handcrafted instruments with rich unique sound, and at a low cost for people who love music around the world.
We strongly believe that music is the intermediate for people to communicate, and so we are sworn to provide the tools to do it (i.e. music instruments that can be seen as unique artefacts).

All strings may take some days to adjust to the tension as well, as they are handmade with minimal machinery. Light “blemishes” that do not affect structure or sound are expected and these are what make our instruments unique and one-of-a-kind. :)
Due to the fact that each item is handcrafted after an order is placed, we handle each purchase as a custom order. In that sense, customer orders or items on sale (discount, etc.) are not refunded, so if you have any doubts about it, feel free to ask us any questions before placing your order.
All of our instruments are handmade products and the production process lends itself to variations. All LUTHIEROS musical instruments are sold "as-is" and by purchasing a LUTHIEROS product, you acknowledge such variations will occur.

Shipping
We have experienced delays in a small percentage of our packages during this period, due to the fact that the COVID-19 pandemic has significant impacts on the worldwide shipping industry. Even if (obviously) this is not our fault, LUTHIEROS family ensures that every order will be delivered no matter what the circumstances are. We can't accept cancelations due to delivery delays, so if time is a top priority for you get in touch with us before placing your order.
// Your shipping options
Our items are carefully packaged, marked as fragile, and shipped through simple or premium shipping, according to our customers’ wishes. Even on the occasion that a problem occurs, that isn’t our responsibility, we will work with you 100% to find the best possible solution.
Regarding the shipping, our customers can choose between two options as described below: Simple and Premium.
// Simple shipping
This is the default shipping method we use for sending our lovingly handcrafted musical instruments to our customers. Each order using this shipping option:

• Has tracking number, to be able to track your package at any given time.
• Is shipped via Hellenic Post (Greece’s national shipping carrier).
• Is delivered to you via your country’s default shipping carrier (for example USPS for the United States).
Everything that is beyond us, is beyond us: delays, mishandle, and damage due to your country’s default shipping company, etc. In the unfortunate event that something goes wrong on an order with “Simple shipping”, LUTHIEROS family will always be on your side and help you find out the best solution (as we did in the past to all our customers who asked for our aid).
* We strongly suggest choosing "premium shipping" for extra fragile musical instruments (such as ancient Cithara / Kithara).
// Premium shipping
This is our premium shipping method that we highly recommend to our customers, in order to receive their new and unique musical instruments intact. We use premium shipping carriers such as FedEx, DHL, TNT, etc. with fast shipping and 100% shipping insurance!
Each order using this shipping option:
• Is shipped using only premium shipping companies.

• Is delivered in half the time than any other shipping option.
• If something goes wrong, we will build a new instrument and send it to you with no additional cost.

• Has tracking number, to be able to track your package at any given time.
* We strongly suggest choosing "premium shipping" for extra fragile musical instruments (such as ancient Cithara / Kithara).

• Import taxes are beyond our control, and they are collected by customs authorities of the country of delivery.
• There are no import taxes for orders delivered to the European Union.
• In case you choose "Simple shipping" for your order, we shall not be held liable to and shall not accept any liability, obligation or responsibility whatsoever for any damage by your country’s state post office. Regarding the latter, do not accept packages which have been tampered with or look damaged. Open such packages in the presence of a postal clerk to ensure that the contents are secure before signing.
