I started my shop when others began asking me if they could purchase my work. It felt right and I love that someone likes something I have done well enough to give it as a gift or hang it on their wall. I specialize in New England scenes, "woodsy" things (as you would find in a cabin) and typical Texas style landscape. I love any kind of animal.
Back roads are my favorite place to be, anywhere. I have had some harrowing experiences trying to get the photos I do....a few summers ago, large black bear hopped across the front of my Escape. (This is now an Xterra since my other half thought it best I had something with 4 wheel drive and 10 ply tires :-).) Me trying to turn around on a road that is a foot wide is quite a chore, especially with a 76 year old aunt in the passengers seat face frozen in fear, griping the handles, putting her foot through the floor on her imaginary brakes and I acting as if it is no big deal. I bent the front license plate outward on some of the trees there and it took us an hour to get off that back road in Maine, but that is beside the point. When you ride with me, you never know what you are going to get and when you will get home. Serious photographers know it takes patience, perseverance, and setting up for a shot to get the good ones. Seldom is it just a "snapshot" in passing, although it does happen that way once in a while.
I have taken classes over the years and learn a lot from the masters of this craft.
I do my own photographing with several cameras, mostly Nikon, and editing in Lightroom and Photoshop when necessary.
