My name is Simona and I'm literally a child of nature since I had the chance to grow up in the most beautiful coast area of the Baltic Sea in Lithuania. By just feeling the blowing wind, the smell of pine trees and the sound of the rushing waves, I know that this is the place, where I always feel home. When my daughter was born I wanted to surround her with the beauty and power of nature. My wish was to provide her and children around the world with the feeling of soft sand under the feet and with the sound of rutsling forest in the ears. That is how my own brand Milduku was born – named after my wonderful daugther Milda.

From the very beginning I knew that I wanted to work with Linen. I remember linen fabric from my childhood. All my grandma’s dresses and table cloths were made out of it and thanks to her, I learned at an early age what qualities this natural and sustainable product has to offer. I have kept the handmade linen items of this past time until today and you would be surprised how beautiful they still look.

The Magic of Linen

Linen is said to be a Lithuanian heritage. The history of my country is marked by old pagan traditions, which are mainly reflected in nature and the production of ecological products. For the old Lithuanian pagans linen was not only a material in which the healing value of the plant was encased, but it also contained magical properties. It was and is still a symbol of wellbeing and harmony – not only in Lithuania but allround the world.
I firmly believe that those who have tried linen already, have discovered its fantastic vigor and know that it is a truly unrivaled material and simply the best and healthiest textile for you and your child.
Linen is made of flax which is known to be the strongest natural fiber in the world, and thus linen items are incredibly durable and can last for generations. Meaning that you can use my linen accessories not only for your child, but they will even comfort your grandchildren. :)
However, linen is not the only thing I can be thankful for to my grandma. I have also inherited her passion for sewing. My Grandma was a master seamstress and lecturer at a tailoring school. I was always impressed by her ability to turn sketches easily into dresses, toys or even coats. I don't need to tell you how proud my grandmother is now by the fact that our traditions will soon be in your hands.

Milduku Philosophy

Milda is the Lithuanian goddess of love and of freedom according to the Baltic mythology, and exactly with this philosophy in mind I design products for you.
Milduku embodies the Nordic-Baltic style that is visible in the colours, the material and quality of my handmade products. In my shop you will find high-quality and sustainable baby and children’s accessories made with care from natural materials exclusively.
You can be assured that all sustainable fabrics used are from local manufacturers that have been certified with an OEKO-TEX standard. Even the fillings are produced locally and made of premium polyester that is 100 % free of chemicals or harmful substances.
At Milduku everything revolves around the colors and forms of nature of the North. Here you will find colors of sand, sea, amber, moss, forest, sky and sunset as well as simple shapes that are characteristic of the Lithuanian coast.

I believe that my products will be found by my soulmates on our beautiful planet, who love forests, water and hills, and who wish to provide their baby with a natural and healthy surrounding. I’m glad to see you here, and I want to welcome you to the „Linen Lovers community“.
