I started my Etsy shop because - like most artists - I dreamed of living off my craft and creativity.

However, after selling hundreds of mosaic light switch covers, I realized that nothing can kill a passion faster, than turning it into work. After making Etsy mosaic orders for hours, I just did not feel like relaxing with some more mosaics. Soon, I came to miss the need to make mosaic experiments and being creative with tile. However, I just needed to do something different when not making mosaics for Etsy.

So, I began creating with concrete. I started off with some innocent leaf castings. I also made some pots and even a concrete sofa for my backyard. You can see both how I made the sofa and the concrete leaves on my Facebook page.

Today I have a job that does not involve getting my hands dirty with glue, grout or concrete and after a long break from making Etsy orders I am beginning to feel more like making mosaics again.

So, today the shop is about selling creations that I have made for my own joy and interest, while selling out pieces I have left over from the days when I used the shop as a source of income.

I have learned my lesson. The lesson being, that my creativity and crafts cannot be forced. Forcing them made me loose them and the comfort and joy they offered me. I am reclaiming my craft for myself and only if I make too much for myself to enjoy, will I make it available for others to enjoy as well.
