Welcome to Merrimack Valley Fleece & Fiber!

I'm Ryoen, a spinner, crocheter, fiber enthusiast, and collector of creative possibilities. What began as a curiosity about how yarn is made grew into a love of spinning, fiber preparation, textile history, and handmade crafts.

My work is inspired by the rich textile heritage of the Merrimack Valley, where rivers, mills, and generations of makers helped shape New England's fiber traditions. Today I enjoy exploring those traditions through handspun yarn, crochet, fiber art, and the occasional creative experiment.

Many of the items you'll find here are one-of-a-kind or small-batch creations. I work with wool, linen, plant fibers, reclaimed textiles, and rescued craft materials whenever I can. I believe beautiful things can come from both carefully chosen materials and forgotten treasures waiting for a second life.

Some days you'll find me spinning yarn on a wheel. Other days I'm crocheting a woodland creature, experimenting with natural fibers, or unraveling an old sweater to see what it wants to become next.
